A few minutes later, Vivienne parked the car on the side of the road, and Jason had long since
disappeared.
Vivienne said to Lily, “You can get out of the car now.”
Lily didn’t get out of the car either, instead, she took out a pack of cigarettes from her bag and lit one,
rolled down the window, and smoked on her own.
Vivienne could see that she was in a bad mood, so she didn’t say anything.
After a long silence in the car, Lily suddenly said, “Why don’t you speak?”
Vivienne glanced at her lazily, “I don’t want to irritate you.”
What she said would annoy Lily now, so she chose to shut up.
Lily flicked the cigarette ash and said, “There’s a coffee shop, have a coffee, it’s on me.”
Vivienne hurriedly said, “Well, I don’t have the right to accept that honor.”
Lily knew it was satire.
“My marriage is a mess now, are you happy? I have been better than you since I was a child. My family
bought me a piano worth hundreds of dollars, while you even had a
problem with tuition fees. I go out with nice cars and LV bags, while you can only set up a street stall in
the night market. I married a good husband…”
At this point, Lily couldn’t continue. Jason had cheated on her.
Vivienne glanced at her lightly and said, “I have never compared anything with you. My family is not as
good as yours, but why should I compare with you? Why should I care about how you live? Everyone
has their own life and troubles, so don’t compare yourself with anyone.”
Lily was so stubborn, “I don’t believe you aren’t jealous of me.”
Vivienne felt speechless, and didn’t bother to argue with Lily, “Yes, yes, whatever you say! I’m jealous
that you have three houses, I’m jealous that your husband is the director of the hospital, and I’m
jealous that your husband’s mistress is pregnant with a second child, okay?”
“Vivienne.” Lily was so angry.
Those last words poke her sore spot.
Vivienne glanced at her lazily, “Don’t yell at me, I’m not Jason, I’m not Tammy, and I’m not your mother.
You can divorce Jason, anyway.”
“That jerk, he doesn’t want to divorce.” Lily said angrily, “He coaxes me, and at the same time he goes
to coax his mistress. Every time I decided to give him another chance, he turned around and went to
find his mistress. This time, I have to divorce, I can’t bear it.”
The more Lily spoke, the more angry and aggrieved she became, and tears burst out of her eyes.
Once the tears fell, it wouldn’t stop.
Lily burst into tears and asked, “Is there any tissue?”
Vivienne took out a box from the drawer, “Take it and cry,
it’s
enough.”
Only by crying and venting could the depression in her heart be relieved.
Vivienne really didn’t want to take care of Lily’s affairs. The relationship between the two was just so-
so. The reason why Lily cried aggrievedly in front of her was that she had been suppressed for a long
time and couldn’t help it.
Lily cried and scolded, “They are so disgusting. I checked their check-in records. They have (h o oked
up since five years ago. Their first daughter is in kindergarten now. She’s in the kindergarten
downstairs in our neighborhood. He is disgusting and bold, right?”
Vivienne nodded, “Yeah, so much.”
Lily said angrily, “The tuition fee for that school is 50,000 dollars a year. He is really generous. He also
rented a big house for that (b i t c h) at a monthly rent of 6,000… ”
Lily counted the money Jason spent on that woman, and Vivienne’s attention was also on these
expenses, but she thought differently from Lily.
The tuition fee for a child was so expensive. She was now unemployed, and Damien was the only
breadwinner. Leaving aside the rent expenses, they didn’t have much left, so how could they afford a
child, let alone save money to buy a house.
Sure enough, the poor had to think twice even before having a child.
Vivienne asked curiously, “The rent is 6,000 a month? What?
That’s a palace? The school is a kindergarten for the royal? The tuition fee is 50,000 dollars a year,
including living expenses?”
Lily was very angry and sad at first, but when Vivienne interrupted her, somehow her sadness
disconnected a bit.
