Chapter 514 Stole Her Work
Chapter 514 Stole Her Work
When Clarissa reached home, she saw that Caleb had left. She threw herself on the sofa, intending to
continue working on her research project.
Strangely enough, her file was gone. No matter what she did, Clarissa couldn’t find it. She searched
the whole computer, but to no avail.
Clarissa panicked so much that a layer of anxious sweat covered her entire forehead. She spent half a
year working hard on her project, but the file went missing in the blink of an eye!
She remembered Caleb had come to her house, so she quickly called him.
“Caleb, have you seen the project on my computer?” Clarissa asked in an anxious voice.
“What project?”
“It’s the national research project I applied for.”
“I didn’t see it. I didn’t touch your computer,” Caleb replied steadily.
“Forget it.” Clarissa hung up.
Clarissa was confused. After that, she called Rem and Lisa and asked if they had a backup. However,
they said that they prepared only their own part of the content. How could they have a backup?
Clarissa sighed helplessly. Then, she called Caleb again and asked him who else had been at her
house this afternoon.
“Oh! Miss Chanel was there, but she saw you weren’t home and left,” Caleb said.
Caleb then thought about his words. He told Clarissa that Chanel had been to her house. Wasn’t it the
same as pushing the blame on Chanel? Caleb didn’t know if Chanel had actually stolen Clarissa’s
work. Therefore, he briefly told Clarissa about Chanel’s quick visit.
Clarissa then called Chanel.
“Your project? I don’t know. I’m not from the finance faculty. Why would I need your project?” Chanel
sounded a little angry at the accusation. “Clarissa, what do you take me for?”
“I...” Clarissa could not say a word to refute Chanel.
Clarissa had to redo the project from memory. However, redoing the project from scratch would be
useless if someone had already stolen her project. Someone else would own the copyright. Filled with
ire, she slammed her hands on her computer.
She didn’t know who was trying to mess with her. There was also the possibility that her computer was
broken.
Chanel gave it a thought, and decided to send the project in her email inbox to Don. She sent the email
to him with a very rarely used email.
Don was in the finance faculty.
Earlier, Chanel pointed out to Clarissa that she wasn’t in the finance faculty. This meant that it was
pointless for Chanel to steal Clarissa’s work. Chanel had implied that the project was only useful to
those in the finance faculty.
Caleb was a member of the finance faculty. In addition, he was Don’s student. Chanel’s words had
given Clarissa the impression that Caleb had stolen her work and gave it to his mentor for his own
benefit.
Chanel’s true intention was to spread the news of Clarissa’s stolen project everywhere. She wanted the
whole school to know about it. In fact, she wanted more people to know about the incident and
indirectly let Damien know that Clarissa was in trouble. Anyway, this whole mess involved Caleb.
Damien would surely come over.
When that happened, Chanel would pretend to show her deep sympathy for Clarissa. She was sure
her show of kindness to Clarissa would attract Damien. He would definitely look her way!
Yes, that was Chanel’s plan.
After that, Chanel deliberately asked about the stolen project in the student and faculty group.
Chanel: [Have any of you seen Miss Johnson’s project report? It’s missing!]
Everyone was very concerned, and asked around where it went missing. After that, everyone learnt
that Caleb was at Clarissa’s house when she lost the report. Caleb was a finance student, so it seemed
logical for him to do this.
The stolen project became a big deal at the University of Florin. Everyone was convinced Caleb had
stolen Clarissa’s project.
Later, Don found the dodgy email in his inbox. Someone had sent the research project with a strange
email. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
The content was about the trust’s research, and Don knew Clarissa was researching this. Don could
use the work, but he was a righteous man who would never plagiarize.
Therefore, he sent the project to Clarissa on WhatsApp.
Don: [Miss Johnson, have a look. Is this your project?]
When Clarissa finally found her lost project, she was overwhelmed with tears of joy.
