Chapter 1520: Confidentiality
Chapter 1520: Confidentiality
The head of Armstrong Corp quickly responded, "From the preliminary investigation, it appears to be an accident. However, it seems someone deliberately caused it, as if they intended to sabotage the project. Having heard about the recent events at Armstrong Corp and knowing about Camille's relationship with Horace, the head of Armstrong Corp had no intentions of hiding anything and spoke directly from his heart.
The head of Simpson Group nodded in agreement, "The incident occurred at a location where a landslide took place. The warning signs had been put up, but they were missing when the incident happened. So, it seems like someone did it intentionally."
This project was extensive and involved a large number of workers. With four companies collaborating on it, the personnel involved became even more complex.
The bosses of the companies were currently discussing how to handle the situation, so the heads of these companies had no room for relaxation. They were responsible for the project and thus had to bear the responsibility.
Especially for the head of Armstrong Corp, he only held the title of a leader in name. In reality, Horace was personally in charge of this project. This caused him great concern. However, with so many people present now, he could only cast his gaze upon Camille and quietly inquire, "Miss Armstrong, can we have a private conversation?"
Camille was slightly taken aback but replied in a warm voice, "Sure."
Camille agreed, and the two of them walked to a corner.
The head of Armstrong Corp began, "Miss Armstrong, you know that I am just an employee of Armstrong Corp. Being in charge of this project is merely a title for me. With this incident occurring, I am uncertain of Mr. Burris's intentions. I don't know how he plans to handle this."
In fact, he was more concerned about what Horace's plans were.
Although he only held a title, he was more worried that Horace might remove the people associated with Armstrong Corp's other shareholders. He wasn't anyone's person; he was just a part of Armstrong Corp He had been with Brody for many years and was currently serving as the head of the Armstrong Corp section of the SynergyCon project. He felt somewhat fearful and believed he couldn't live up to such a position. However, he still wanted to remain in Armstrong Corp, so he could only follow Horace's arrangements.
Now that an accident had occurred, it was certain that someone would take the blame, especially since the incident was related to Armstrong Corp. While Armstrong Corp was only responsible for the materials and not the construction, there was still a certain connection between the landslide and the materials. Therefore, he was worried that Horace would remove him and make him the scapegoat.
Originally, he planned to contact Camille today even though they weren't familiar with each other. They had met before, and Camille should have some impression of him. Considering the recent events at Armstrong Corp, he believed Camille would be concerned about Armstrong Corp to some extent.
Now that fate had given him the opportunity to encounter Camille, he certainly wouldn't let go of such a good chance.
After he finished speaking, he cautiously looked at Camille and whispered, "Miss Armstrong, can you give me some advice? I don't understand Mr. Burris, and I'm not familiar with him, so I don't know what to do."
Camille didn't respond much and glanced briefly at the man in front of her. She wasn't concerned about Armstrong Corp's affairs, but his words sparked a brief moment of contemplation. It's possible, after all.
But based on her understanding of Horace, he shouldn't act this way.
If Horace wanted to conduct a thorough purge of Armstrong Corp's people, this meeting wouldn't be happening like this, and it wouldn't have been delayed until now.
Camille regained her composure and met the man's concerned gaze. She spoke calmly, "You don't need to worry. Even if Mr. Burris really intends to do that, I cannot change it. But for now, he hasn't done so. So, don't speculate too much. Even if he does, you won't be able to change anything, alright?"
The man nodded slightly in agreement, but his worries remained. "I just don't want to leave Armstrong Corp. At my age, it's really difficult to find a job."
With dependents and responsibilities, leaving a company wasn't something he dared to do easily, especially after being with Armstrong Corp for such a long time.
Camille expressed understanding, but she wouldn't interfere with Armstrong Corp's affairs. Everything should be handled by Horace.
However, Camille assured him that
there was no need to worry excessively: Horace wouldn't be the kind of person to burn bridges. As long as someone remained loyal to Armstrong Corp, Horace wouldn't treat them differently.
The man felt somewhat relieved, and the conversation between them ended, returning to the original room.
As soon as they entered the room, they heard footsteps coming down. Kian immediately stood up and walked to the door. It was Ayan, finished with his conversation upstairs.
Kian quickly informed Camille, "Madam, Mr. Simpson is coming down."
Upon hearing this, Camille walked out of the room again and stood at the staircase. Her gaze met Ayan's as he descended.
Upon seeing her, Ayan instinctively froze for a moment but quickly recovered. He came down directly from upstairs and walked up to Camille. Holding her hand, his voice hoarse, he asked, "When did you arrive?"
"Just a little while ago. How did your conversation go?" Camille asked worriedly.
However, due to the presence of others, Ayan didn't say much. After giving her a glance, he said to Kian, "You go and bring the car. Let the driver take her car back, and we'll ride together." Camille had no objections to riding with him.
While Kian went to get the car, Mario, Horace, and Mr. Nores also came down from upstairs. Their expressions showed nothing unusual; it seemed like their discussion went well. Upon seeing Camille, both Horace and Mario greeted her.
Ayan glanced at the time; there were other matters he needed to attend to, so he had to return to Simpson Group for the time being.
As for the SynergyCon project, the press conference would be attended by Mario and Horace, with Mr. Nores providing assistance. Ayan left with Camille, and once they were in the car, Camille continued with her previous question, "Is the situation quite serious?"
Ayan replied, "For now, it's not too serious. The injured individuals and their families have been admitted to several hospitals in Hance City. They didn't choose public hospitals because they were afraid of attracting unnecessary attention."

The families of the injured individuals have also signed confidentiality agreements, which naturally involved financial compensation.
Currently, the number of injured individuals is divided among four companies, each responsible for handling their own employees and ensuring strict confidentiality.
Ayan looked at Camille and spoke
softly, "There's no need to worry too
much. It's not a major issue. The
only thing we can be thankful for s that there were no casualties among the personnel. Otherwise, the consequences would have been severe."
Camille nodded along; she was indeed concerned about this.
Then, Ayan turned to Kian and said, "Arrange a few discreet individuals to secretly monitor the families of the injured and the personnel from the other three companies involved in this matter."
Kian understood and replied, "Mr. Simpson, are you concerned that the individuals assigned by the other three companies might have ulterior motives?"
