Chapter 319
Chapter 319:
I hadn’t known what to expect from them, but I didn’t realize they’d take it so well. They were so welcoming and chill about it.
“We don’t know yet,” Raina said, slowly shaking her head. Her smile never left her face. “But guess what, again?”
“What?” The twins asked in unison, clearly tired of the suspense their mom was putting them through.
“You dad and I got married again.”
There was no response. The room fell silent as the three of them stared at each other. Then, Ava let out an excited scream.
“Are you for real!? Are you both going to stay married now? Like, it’s real? Like… forever kind of thing!?”
“Stop shouting,” Raina said, trying to act angry, but she couldn’t help it as a smile broke out on her face. “Yes,” she squealed excitedly, giggling softly, “like forever.”
“Does that mean the baby will have the same last name as we both do?” Liam asked.
“Yes, sweetheart.”
I leaned against the wall, silently watching her. There was a softness and warmth in her voice that I hadn’t heard in so long. The excitement radiating off the kids through the phone made her happy, and her smile was so bright, her eyes twinkling and her body glowing. Everything looked perfect in that moment. But why the hell did it feel like she was hiding something from me?
The way she had jumped when I touched her this morning. The way she avoided my gaze when I placed a gentle kiss on her lips. And now, the way she was laughing with the kids—I knew something was up.
She was the one behind it.
She was the one who had given out the evidence. She had easy access to everything we had, and she could have tipped them off about where to search for more.
But how was I supposed to confront her? What if I was wrong?

I ran a hand through my hair before turning around and heading upstairs. Dominic had a glass of water in his hand, chugging it down when I stepped beside him on the balcony.
“She’s the one who did it,” I said as I leaned against the wall.
Dominic didn’t turn to look at me. “You’re not sure of that.”
“She knows where all the evidence is. You, me, Faith, and Raina—that’s it. Faith has been home all day, and you’ve been with me.” He finally turned to look at me, his eyes narrowing.
“You’re jumping to conclusions,” he said with a defeated sigh. “What about Eliza? Maybe she’s the one who leaked it?”noveldrama
“Eliza doesn’t have the video, and there’s no way she would ever get it. I’m not jumping to anything,” I snapped. “Aside from us, only Raina does. I’m being logical here, and I know I’m right.”
“She’s your wife, Alex.”
“She also looked me in the eyes this morning and lied,” I bit back. “I wonder what more she’s hiding.”
Dominic stood straight, though his shoulders were tense. “Let’s get this straight, Alex. If, for some reason, you’re wrong and you mess this up by accusing her, I swear to God that I’ll personally drag your ass out of her life and make sure you stay far away from her. For good, this time.”
