A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 67: You don’t deserve this

Chapter 67: You don’t deserve this

“Ma’am Amelia!! Alice is gone!” Alba kept screaming as she ran down the stairs, pulling everyone’s attention to her.

“What?!” The people exclaimed.

“What do you mean Alice is gone?!” Amelia and James exclaimed, running back to the stairs.

“I. I.” Alba muttered, trying to catch her breath. Amelia grabbed her by the shoulders and began to shake her vigorously.

“Talk to me, Alba! Where is Alice?!” Amelia yelled. Her eyes heated up in no time, and she was covered in sweat.

“I needed to use the restroom. I left her on the bed in the room, only for me to return and find out that she…”

Amelia let go of her and ran up the stairs at great speed. “Ma’am Amelia!” Mrs Alba called in fear and ran after Amelia.

“No one leaves this party!” James announced in anger and terror. He ran to the door, locked it and threw the keys in his pockets.

“What? Why would you do that? You can’t just keep us here! We are innocent!” The congregation began to mumble to James’ deaf ears.

He ignored them and ran up the stairs after Amelia. Elena, Penelope and James’ parents also ran up the stairs in disbelief.

“This better be a joke!” Penelope uttered, shaking her head vigorously.

Amelia stormed into the room where she had left Alba to look over Alice until she was back, only to find only her shawl.

“No. No. No! This can’t be happening!” Amelia cried in a very loud voice and grabbed her head.

“I’m sorry, Mrs Amelia, I should never have left her alone.” Alba cried. Penelope pulled her by her dress and threw a hot slap on her face.

“But you left her, didn’t you? And now my grandchild is missing!” Penelope yelled. She tried to slap Alba again but Helen stopped her.

“This isn’t the best idea, Penelope! We should go out there and find out who abducted Alice! We are wasting time, standing here and raising our voices.”

“That’s true. James, you go and search the people. I’ll look outside the house.”

James clenched his jaws and fist, fighting his urge to cry. Amelia was already crying, and he didn’t want to break down too.

“I’ll help you look too.” Elena uttered, and James shot her a deadly look.

“Can you stop pretending to be nice?! Everybody is a suspect here!”

“What?! What are you insinuating James?! That I abducted my nephew? Are you that dumb! I was out there with Amelia on the stage!” Elena responded with great fury.

“Enough! Enough! My child is missing, and all you can do is fight?! Alice is gone!” Amelia screamed and ran out of the room screaming “Alice”.

“Amelia!” They all called, running out of the room after her.

“Alice, my love! Where are you?!” Amelia’s voice vibrated as she cried out. Her heart was pounding against her chest very fast like it was going to explode if she didn’t see Alice in the next few seconds.

She ran down the stairs with great speed, and the others ran after her, they tried to catch her but she seemed too fast.

“Alice!” Amelia yelled again when she got down the stairs and she began to look around the living room. On the guests body, on the dining table, in bags and other places.

“Alice, please calm down. You are scaring me.” James said after finally catching up with her.

“Calm down?! James, our girl is missing!” She growled.

“And we would find her. Dad, mom and the others are outside looking for her already.”

Amelia didn’t seem to find comfort in James’ words. Seeing Alice healthy and carrying her in her hands was the only thing that could comfort her.

“You still haven’t seen her?” Ava asked with great worry. Amelia ignored her and kept looking all over the place.

“No, we haven’t, Ava. If you want to help, don’t just ask questions. Help us look, okay? There is a criminal in our midst.” James uttered, and Ava bobbed.

“Criminal? Isn’t that sounding too serious?” Hudson mumbled and scoffed at James’ hearing.

James grew so furious after hearing what he said and stormed to where Hudson was sitting, feeling very relaxed.

He pulled him up by the shirt and threw a punch at his face. Hudson’s face fell to the side and his lips burst.

“Where the hell did you take her?! What did you do to Alice?!” Silver flew out of James’ lips as he spoke and handled Hudson aggressively.

“Are you insane?! Why would I want to abduct your daughter? What do you take me for?!” Hudson yelled in response.

James clenched his fists and raised his hand to punch him again, but Fred got in the way and grabbed his hand.

“Enough, James! You have the wrong person! He was here when the speech was going on! We were all her. Nobody left! If you are looking for the culprit, you have to move forward.”

“Move forward? To where, hun? And what if this culprit is you?!” James let go of Hudson and grabbed Fred by the shirt suddenly.

“Stop! Enough! James, fighting with everyone isn’t the solution! No one here would do that to an innocent baby! You need to involve the police!” Ava yelled in fear of things getting rough and out of hand.

“I think you need to be with Amelia now.” Patricia added, and they all turned to look at Amelia who was already lying on the floor, weeping profusely.

“Amelia.”

James let go of Fred and ran to meet Amelia. He fell next to her and tried to raise her up but she resisted him.

“Alice. Is. Gone.” Her lips curved up as she broke into more tears. Her nostrils were running seriously and her dress had turned dirty.

James hated how she looked, and he couldn’t hold back his tears. He closed his eyes very tight and a teardrop rolled down his left eye.

“We’re going to find her. I promise.” James answered, hugging her to the floor, at the middle of the living room, where she laid.

“Can you at least let us leave? We can’t keep your baby in our bags! You’ve searched everything.” The congregation began to murmur again.

“Until we confirm what is going on, I’m sorry but we all have to stay put!” Penelope uttered in a loud tone, making everyone go dead silent.

All of a sudden, the main door opened and Charles ran in. “We found something.” He said to James, and James sprang to his feet.

Amelia also sprang up and ran out of the living room. Charles and James followed behind her. Amelia ran towards where she heard voices and it happened to be at the back of the mansion.

On getting there, she looked up and saw a rope that extended down from the window of the room Alice was laid. She covered her mouth with her hand and shut her eyes very tight.

She fell on her knees and looked at the rope again. “She is truly gone.”

Elena ran up to her and also knelt beside her. “We will find her, Amelia. Please stop crying.”

“Who the hell could have done this?! This is insane!” Helen muttered, cleaning the tears that had gathered in her eyes.

“We need to inform the police, James. The person that did this is probably long gone. Are there CCTV cameras around? It would help the police get who did this.”

“There are CCTV cameras.” James answered, still staring at the window in disbelief.

The room was on the second floor, so he began to wonder how that person could climb all the way down with Alice in a very short period of time.”

“I’ll call the police.” Charles added and pulled out his phone. Alba rested her back on the wall and slid down. She began to regret leaving Alice, and even attending the party in the first place.

“Everyone inside that house needs to be questioned by the police! They shouldn’t be released until the police have interrogated them.” Elena stated, and Amelia bounced her head.

“Yes! No one is leaving until I find my girl.” She mumbled and rested her head on Elena’s shoulder, still sobbing nonstop.

Penelope kept watch on the congregation in the house and even began to video record all of their movements. She threatened to show the police if they tried to do something stupid.

“I shouldn’t have come here in the very first place. Now he is suspecting that I kidnapped his baby. Isn’t that crazy?” Hudson said icily.

“Can you stop talking, please? You can’t blame him for suspecting you! You have always done evil to them.” Ava answered.

“Really? And you have been the nicest to them? You have hated Amelia your whole life. You should be suspect number one.”

“Can you shut the f**k up both of you?! We are all suspects here, and that woman right there…” Fred paused and pointed to Penelope. “… you’ll are not so stupid not to know that she is recording

a video.”

“Who is this anyways?” Hudson asked, raising his eyebrows.

“That is none of your business! You just got out of prison, I don’t blame James for thinking you are the one! You are the one with the insane obsession.” Fred added, and Hudson’s mouth fell open in awe.

“Did you tell him this, Ava?”

“I don’t even know him, Hudson! Shut the hell up, okay? What is going on is enough drama for the night.” Ava responded with annoyance and rested her head on Gordon’s chest.

“I should go and console Amelia.” Fred suggested and tried to get up from the chair when Patricia pulled him and made him sit again. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

“Are you thinking at all? You want to go and console her when James is there? Let her be for now, okay? We are all worried about her, but now, we need to be extra careful.”

Fred heaved a sigh and slowly nodded. He shook his head sadly and lowered his face to the ground.

‘I’m sorry all this has to happen to you, Amelia. You are a nice person and don't deserve this.’ He thought to himself.
