Chater 36
Chapter 36 Her Smile
Sierra nodded eagerly. She was so grateful that Jemima was giving her another chance. She would never disappoint Jemima again.

Jemima's serious expression softened when she looked at Sierra. She cleared her throat lightly and said, "It's lunchtime. Stay and have lunch with Theo." "Alright. I'll go cook it's been a while since you've had a taste of my cooking, hasn't it? You and Uncle Theo can chat while 1 head to the kitchen." Sierra babbled, then turned and gave Theo a soft smile. The sunlight bathed her in warmth, and her smile seemed to make her glow. Theo was lost in thought for a moment. Watching her walk away, he couldn't help but smile to himself.
Jemima noticed Theo's subtle smile. She glanced toward where Sierra had gone, then fell into a quiet thought.
"Theo, come upstairs and have some tea with me." She spoke gently as she led the way to the tea table under the pavilion.
Theo nodded and followed her upstairs, sitting across from her.
"When Sierra was leaming the piano with me, I often kept ber here for dinner. Eventually, she probably felt a bit embarrassed, so she'd help the housekeeper in the kitchen instead
“Over time, she picked up quite a few cooking skills. The housekeeper always jokes that Sierra stole her techniques. Jemima smiled warmly as she spoke. “She's very smart,” Theo responded in a deep, soothing voice, a slight smile touching his lips. The coldness in his eyes melted, replaced by a faint warmth. Jemima nodded. “Sierra is very sharp. She picks up things quiddy. I've watched her grow up. She's kind-hearted, obedient, and very filial- a wonderful child.
The only problem is, she's too soft-hearted, which makes it easy for others to take advantage of her. She sighed quietly as she finished.
Theo set down his teacup, his voice cool but thoughtful. "Being soft-hearted comes from her landness. It just gets directed at the wrong people, turning it into a weakness.”
Jemima met his gaze, her expression thoughtful. “Then, I don't often hear you speak up for others. I noticed it last time at the hospital when you seemed to be defending Sierra. And now, you've brought her here. You seem to care a lot about her."
A shadow crossed Theo's eyes, and he spoke slowly, "I just heard you don't want to lose her as a student, so I'm helping,"
Jemima smiled. "Are you so sure Sierra will do well in the Marisol Cup?
"Aunt Jemima's judgment is never
Theo's voice was calm, but his eyes were fixed on the kitchen. He could see the figure of the girl moving about inside through the glass door.
Even from a distance, it seemed as though he could see the smile on herface.
Jemima followed his gaze, and the thought in her heart became clearer. She pursed her lips, frowned, and then turned back to Theo.
She said eamestly, “Theo, Sierra is a good girl. I'm happy she's found her dream again, and I hope she can do what makes her happy. Do you understand?”
Theo shifted his gaze, his eyes flickering. Jemima was worried that he might try to influence Sierra, just like Benson had done beforenoveldrama
"If I really intended to do that, I wouldn't have brought her here today."
His tone was indifferent, and his posture relaxed as he crossed his long legs, exuding an air of nobility. With those words, his thoughts were laid bare.
