Branch One Hundred and Fifty Six
As Xavier stood outside he took a deep breath to steady himself. He looked around to ensure nobody was there. However, the house staff rarely came up except when they had a job to do there or if they were requested by a family member who stayed up there.
He knew that it took his will to resist the urge to kiss her senselessly. He wanted to be kissed by her too and he wanted it so badly, it was like his entire body itched for it. He shook his head with his eyes closed and then walked in the direction of the balcony.
He felt the bilge in his trousers. He had never felt that before but here she was giving the urge he found it so hard to control just by looking at him. What about her was so special? He asked himself as he stood there allowing the breeze swaying the giant trees in the distance hit his cheeks as well.
“Xavier?” Jessica said when she noticed his figure standing still on the balcony.
She took long strides towards him. What could he be doing there? He rarely went there and so she did. She was not sure she had stepped foot into the balcony.
“Xavier?” she called again when he did not turn to face her.
Xavier took in a deep breath as he turned to face her with a smile on his face. He wished himself extreme luck because he knew that he needed it.
“Shall we?” she asked and he stared at her for a moment. It was as if he was not able to hear her voice but he could only see the beautifully and carefully crafted features on her face.
“Xavier?” she said snapping her finger in his face.
“Yeah?” he said as if he had just snapped out of a trance.
“Shall we go?” she asked and he nodded. She turned around and began to walk towards the stairs. She turned around just in time to see that he had not moved an inch from where he was standing earlier.
She sighed and walked back to him. “Xavier,” She said this time clapping slightly to get his attention. “Is something up at work? Do you need to go fix the situation? It’s okay if you can not come with us, we can manage” she rambled on.
His facial expression looked worried and she did not like it at all. “Oh no nothing at all,” he said absentmindedly.
“Are you fine?” she asked
“Yeah I am,” he said nodding.
“Well, let us go”
Xavier and Jessica walked downstairs and went towards the prepared car with Genevieve. One of the drivers offered to drive but Xavier said he was going to do it himself. Genevieve entered into the back seat and Jessica was about to follow suit when Xavier stopped her.
He closed the door and winked at her. “I volunteered to drive so you could sit by my side,” he said before opening up the passenger seat up front for her.
She grumbled some incoherent words before sliding in and the door shooting behind her. “I never knew Xavier was such a considerate man,” Genevieve said.
As Xavier slid into the car he heard only the last two words of what she had said. He cast a questioning look the way of Jessica and she shrugged as she put on her seat belt. Xavier narrowed his eyes at her before putting his seat belt on.
“I will be going now” he announced before backing out of the front of the house towards the gate.
Jessica looked back at Genevieve to ensure she was okay. “Are you good back there?” she asked.
“Sure I am do not worry about me” she answered back. She felt like a third wheel on a date between an extremely lovey-dovey couple. Jessica nodded before turning back to face the road. She felt a heavy start on her but she believed that it was impossible for Xavier to be staring at her while he was driving.
She shifted in her seat and turned her attention to Xavier who kept staring at her and the road back and forth. “Eyes on the road” she tried to whisper so Genevieve could not hear them.
“My eyes are the road but they rather be somewhere else”
She froze in her seat as she turned to face him. “I don’t think you would like it very much if I kept staring so hard at you” she whispered back.
She tried to keep the conversation private but it was obvious he had no intention to do so. His voice was louder than it should be.
“Just eyes on the road” Jessica replied when she became lost for words.
“Yes ma’am” he replied in a working tone.
‘Since he did not mind you checking him out you might as well do so too’ her brain whispered to her.
He was wearing a button-up shirt with no tie. The sleeves that were supposed to be long were rolled up to his forearm and she wanted to rightly confess he love for that part of his body but she gulped down hard.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
When her eyes traced their way back up to his face he winked at her and mouthed to her “You like what you see?”
And then cue the hiccups.
