Accidentally Married

Branch One Hundred and Sixty

“I am sorry, I mean I should not have passed out my frustration on you when it was obvious that you only wanted to help me out. I was just overwhelmed” he said and she froze.

Nope, she was not expecting him to apologize so easily the way he just did.

“What was the matter?” she asked.

“Am I forgiven?”

“If you tell me what happened I can decide”

“If you come over I will tell you everything and even more” he added the last part in a whisper.

“I am actually busy now, we will see later at home,” she said trying to play hard to get. She was not going to bend to everything he wanted because she liked him.

“Then I will come to you,” he said.

“No Xavier,” she said dropping the earlier formal tone she had taken up with him. “I am really busy and I am sure you are too so let us work hard now and see you later at home” she added.

“But what do I do?”

“About what?”

“I miss you so much that I want to see your face immediately”

“Hold on,” she said taking the phone away from her ears. She took a couple of selfies and sent them to him. “Check your messages,” she said.

It was his turn to remove the phone from his ears. He checked the images and a smile warmed his cheeks.

“So beautiful, but what if I want to touch you and hold you close and kiss you too?” he asked.

“Then you can wait till evening” She did not want to confess but she also wanted to see his face so badly, she wanted to touch him and run her hands along his face, she wanted to take in his scent as it filled her nose. But even if she was no longer pissed at him she needed to use the opportunity to teach him a lesson.

“I don’t think I will be able to concentrate at work today” he whispered.

“Have your lunch, don’t skip it” she said.

“Yes ma’am” he mocked. He did not like that she was denying him the opportunity to come to her.

“Also, no need to come pick me up we will meet at the house” she added which made him groan in annoyance.

“Is this some kind of punishment?” he asked.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“You sure are smart aren’t you?”

“Jessica?” he started as he tried to protest.

“Bye Xavier, see you later”

Olivia finally plucked her courage and climbed up the stairs. She looked around hoping no other person was up there. She rubbed her palms together as they were sweaty. How did she think of doing such a thing? If only Jessica had given her what she wanted in the first place.

What she was doing was a criminal offence but she rather spend a night in the police cell than spend a day with those moneymongers. She shook in fear and opened the first door she encountered.

The room was covered in darkness. Her hand roamed try wall beside the door to see if she would find the wall switch. She did and then noticed the room was empty. She switched off the light and shut the door behind her.

She wanted to turn back and leave but the thought of what those men could do to her or Jessica pushed her to get what she needed. She just needed to either find his room or a study to ensure that she got something she needed.

A checkbook or a document containing his signature which she could forge would be what she needed to get that big sum from him and then escape from their lives. She tried to convince herself that she was doing it to save her niece. It was a wonder that a part of her still pricked on her conscience that she was doing the wrong thing.

She pushed open the next door and the room was not in pitch darkness like the last. It was obvious that it was their bedroom. It looked like the staff had worked there because everything was nice and clean.

She left the door open and went inside. She began to ransack all the drawers as she opened them and searched for what it was she was looking for. When she found nothing in any of the drawers, she opened the door to the closet and entered.

She marveled at the sight, indeed it was obvious that they were in no way on the same level. Lines of expensive and exotic suits lined the walls on their racks. In situations like these, the women always had more clothes but reverse was the case with them.

She stopped herself from gaping at the suits. Maybe she could sell those shots instead. A few of them missing and he would never know and she could get good money for them in a pawn shop.

“Did I leave this door open?” Roselle said as she entered the room. “Hmm that’s weird” she added as she saw that the seemingly perfect arrangement she had done had some fault.

She walked inside and saw the closet door wide open. She knew she did not leave them open. Was Jessica back? Who could it be that was inside ten young masters’ rooms without permission?

She went to the door of the closet as she watched Olivia stare at the clothes on the wall. “What are you doing here?”
