After It Happened

Chapter 21: 20

Chapter 21: 20

25th March 2018

Dear Danielle,

Is it weird to say I've been enjoying Kelechi's company? Surprisingly, I don't want the project to be over

yet and this is Chemistry we're talking about. We turned in our project yesterday and taught the class.

Fortunately I didn't mess it up like Kelechi thought I would. I can be serious when I need to be. Mr.

Fahdia gave us an A, although I think it's mostly because I'm Kelechi's partner. If I was my own partner,

the man wouldn't think twice before giving me an F. Yeah, he despises me that much.

The past few days have been the same routine. Go to school, go to Kelechi's house and study

transition metals after doing my homework. I've even been sitting at Tola's table since Camille is still © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

being immature over the partner incident. At least I get a chance to talk to my sweet boyfriend.

If you're bothered about Camille, I'm not going to be the one to apologise this time around. She needs

to stop being a selfish bitch. She's been giving me the stinky eye since I joined Kelechi at my

boyfriend's table. She gets to sit with her boyfriend and I don't? I'm sure you see my point now. Oh well,

moving on.

I was invited to a party. Tola is hosting a surprise party for his sister who is in university and he invited a

few of us to keep him company since there are going to be a lot of college kids. I know I shouldn't be

partying with my WAEC exams and all, but I can't turn down this offer. Plus I need to relieve JAMB

stress a little. Weak excuse, I know. Whatever. Ciao, I need to get my beauty sleep now.

I was putting on my silver hoop earrings when the doorbell rang. I looked at the mirror again and

frowned at my choice of lipstick. The pink lipstick suddenly looked too bright considering the dark look I

was going for. I quickly wiped it off and slapped on some lipgloss. I pouted my lips and smiled at my

reflection before going to meet Kelechi. We decided that he would come to my house and pick me up

since he hadn't been to Tola's house yet. Surprising considering that they were now best of friends.

Kelechi was waiting for me in the living room. He looked up from his phone when he heard my

footsteps.

"Ah calm down. You want those university boys to start falling shey", he teased with a slight smile while

his eyes took in my outfit.

"Leave my fineness for me jare. Let's start going."

I shivered slightly from the slight cold as I stepped outside. Even the cropped sweater I had on couldn't

stop the cold from nipping at my skin. So much for being fashionable and warm. I would have to

sacrifice a little warmth. The gloomy weather gave promises of a heavy rain. Thank goodness Tola's

house was big enough to shelter guests from the rain.

As I opened the car door, my aunt pulled in with my grandmother in the passenger seat. They had to

leave early in the morning for Grammy's checkup. I stopped to greet them while my aunt looked warily

at Kelechi.

"I thought you were going to the party alone."

"He doesn't know the venue and he decided that we go together. He's Camille's brother."

"Oh, I haven't seen him here before. I didn't know Camille had a brother. He looks familiar though."

Then to Kelechi, she said, "Where is your sister?"

"She went with someone else."

"Oh someone else?", Aunty Amara said with a weird look.

"You people should be careful there oo. Don't do something stupid. Ola, better be back before 7."
