Chapter 55
Chapter 55 The Worries
Anna couldn't help but burst into laughter after guessing the truth.
Ever since Leah had been hired, she should have guessed her identity from the beginning.
How could she find out the truth only after everything?
Anna found herself way too foolish.
The security guard noticed Anna's sudden laughter and thought she might have been driven crazy. He asked cautiously, "Anna... Anna, are you okay?"
"Nothing at all. What could possibly go wrong?" Anna retorted with a sardonic smile. She slowly straightened herself up, recollecting the moment when Sam had betrayed her in the surveillance room. A shadow of resentment flashed in her eyes.
Even if she discovered Leah's true identity, there was no way she would spill the beans to that foolish man.
After all, wasn't Sam the one who couldn't stand Leah? He even harbored dreams of snatching the CEO position at Lia Jewellery from her.
Anna couldn't help but revel in the thought of Sam eventually reaping what he sowed.
Maybe when the time came, he would suffer an even more miserable ending.
Back in the office, Ethan gazed at Leah's assertive demeanor and couldn't help but praise her. "Leah, your leadership skills are truly remarkable. Even as your elder brother, I'm genuinely impressed." Leah modestly smiled. "Oh, come on. I've got a long way to go compared to you. I need to work harder."
"What a sweet talker. No wonder Mom always ways that your words can warm her heart."
"Haha!"
Leah couldn't help laughing. "I always speak from the heart. Your compliments mean a lot to me."NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Ethan smiled. "Didn't we plan to have dinner together? Did you make the reservation?"
"Oh, right! I almost forgot. Hold on a second. I'll book a table right now." Leah immediately took out her phone to make a reservation.
"Sure, take your time," Ethan replied, looking rather relieved.
Ever since his little sister had returned home, she had regained her confidence and vivacity, and he couldn't have been happier.
Later, after dinner, Leah and Ethan returned home.
Upon spotting her, Laura stood up from the sofa and pulled Leah over to sit beside her.
"Leah, how's your management of the company been going lately? Everything good?"
Leah turned aside to rest on her mother's shoulder.
"Yeah. It went pretty smoothly."

"Come on Leah's so smart. How could a small design company possibly pose a challenge for her? You don't need to worry," Kaden expressed his confidence in Leah.
Laura rolled her eyes at him speechlessly.
"Yeah, yeah, as if you're not worried. Don't forget. You were the one who kept fretting about whether our precious daughter would adapt to the company or if the employees would give her a hard time. You repeated those worries at least dozens of times. My ears have practically developed caffuses from hearing it."
Kaden cleared his throat awkwardly. "Well, our precious daughter is managing a company for the first time. A little concern is only natural, isn't it?"
Laura rolled her eyes again. "Since you're also worried, don't make it sound like I'm the only one."
Kaden rubbed his nose. "Okay, darling. It's my fault. I won't bring it up again."
"Hmph," Laura huffed and shifted her gaze back to Leah. Then, she appeared much gentler.
"By the way, Leah, do you remember when your dad made that one-billion-dollar donation to charity in your name? Now, the charity. foundation is organizing a charity auction, and they've invited us to be the organizers. Are you interested?"
