Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1213

She sympathized with others, but who would sympathize with her child?

The sharp fingernails sank into her palm. Lauren's heart once again bled, dripping blood. In a trance, clear mutterings sounded by her ear.

"Have you seen the woman who just entered the clinic? The one carrying the baby! Alas. She's a member of our community. She's indeed pitiful. She's only in her early thirties. She raises two daughters on her own and hires a nanny. One child is not sensible, and the other suffers from leukaemia. She must have a hard life!"

"Is that her husband? He seems to be responsible, isn't he? It looks like he's very worried about the child's health!"

"What? He's perhaps a friend! She seems to be a divorcee and is living alone! I've never seen anyone like this. The family from her husband's side doesn't care for them, neither does her maternal family do! They left her to fend for herself, raising the two children on her own, though she seems to be an easy-going person. Oh, I have no idea why she turns out to be so miserable! Occasionally, I see this man coming over to help out!" "There must be a reason for her to end up in such a state! Don't you think she must have cheated on her husband? That's must be it, or why would the man's family be so cruel even for the sake of the children! The child seems to only be a two-year-old, isn't she?"

"Well, I suppose she will be two in a few months time! Alas. It seems to make sense once you say so. By right, the man's family should take one of the two children under their care regardless of whether the couple is divorced, or the female is widowed. The eldest daughter has leukaemia, so the man may feel that she's a burden. There's, however, no reason for them to abandon the younger daughter."

"That's right. The woman seems to belong to an affluent family. The more insensible the children are, the easier the family members can care for them. If that's the case, won't they all fight for child custody? One of them is sick, so why would the woman fight for the child custody of the two children? Won't she be both mentally and physically tired from caring for the two of them?"

"Perhaps she has remarried? Isn't that the one?"

"Alas, women have a hard life. One can't make any mistakes. Most men would never take the responsibility into their own hands..."

Watching as the pair of middle-aged women passed by, Lauren's gaze once again shifted before falling on the empty door. The pool of water in her heart stirred.

Clenching her fists, the abnormality in her palm once again attracted her attention to the gift box in hand. For a moment, her sympathy was deeply buried by an indescribable hatred. Turning around, Lauren glanced at her watch and strode away.

After returning to the square with the conspicuous landmark, which was their rendezvous point, Lauren's eyes had never left her watch. The moment the minute hand met the second hand, she raised her head and was met with the emptiness in front of her, prompting her to grit her teeth. "It's eight o'clock!"

"Willy Bowles, you did great! You stood me up again!"

Lauren got up on her feet and turned around. At the same time, she waved her hand and stopped a taxi.noveldrama

In the hospital, the two ran into the infirmary before a doctor took over the rescue operation. Soon, they were chided before they were urged to deal with all kinds of formalities.

When they returned to the ward, the child on the hospital bed was on an IV drip. Her face had resumed its color, and her breathing had steadied.

"Doctor?"

"Acute infectious laryngitis! How did you two, her parents, take care of her? Don't you know if you came a little later, the child might lose her life!" Willy had something on his mind and was in a hurry to leave. Hearing that, he was shocked. On the way to meet Lauren, he saw the two jump out of the taxi, so he got off the car to lend a hand. Little had he expected to be stuck in the traffic. Sensing something wrong with the child, they did not wait for the red light and directly got off the car.

"Is she all right now, Doctor?"

Cloud mentioned that the child couldn't catch her breath because of a cold. He hadn't expected it to be so critical!

"Her condition has already been stabilized. The syndrome first demonstrates symptoms of a cold, such as fever, cough, nose snot and so forth. After one to three days, she will start to cough more frequently. Her cough will be as hoarse as a dog's barking. In serious situations

her face will turn bluish from of

oxygen, her lips will swell, she will feel restless, she will have difficulty breathing and so on. Many such symptoms will take place at night. The child's throat cavity is narrow, and the tissues on the sides of the throat are loose. Since there are many listed cells in the throat, it is easy to cause blockages. Children do not have an idea on how they should cough, so it is not easy for them to remove the secretions that clog the throat and the trachea, which makes it more difficult to breathe. If you do not treat it in time, it may threaten her life! You must bear in mind not to be so careless in the future!"

"I'll keep it in mind. Doctor, I won't allow such an incident to happen again! I won't such an incident to happen again! Doctor, is my daughter now all right?"

Bursting into tears, Cloud's face was covered with snot.

"Well, she has fallen asleep! She needs to be hospitalized for observation and treatment for two more days. Send someone to care for her in the hospital. If anything happens, call me..."

After seeing the doctor off, Cloud said.

"Thank you, I was fortunate to have run into you today! Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do... I was too careless! Dory has recently been undergoing chemotherapy, so I neglected Delilia. Seeing how she has a cold like before, all I did was to give her medication... I'm not a qualified

mother!"

Looking at her tears from self-

blaming, no matter what a person she was, Willy sincerely sympathized with her role as a

mother For the sake of the two

children, she had suffered a lot. All of a sudden, the image of Lauren carrying a baby flashed in his mind. He felt worse as if his heart had been seized.

"Don't push yourself too hard. You've done a good job! Cloud, no matter how excellent the nanny is, she's not

a

er of your family, so she's t

not as considerate as a family member. I ran into you. What about next time? It doesn't matter it's your family or his, you'd better think about finding someone suitable to help you out..."

In more than a year, the child had yet recovered, so she must have lost more than five pounds!

After handing a piece of tissue over, Willy did not stay for long. "I have to leave. I will get someone to bring you some daily necessities!"

On the way, his eyes had never left his watch. Willy rushed out of the hospital before 8 o'clock. When he arrived at the appointed place, he was five minutes late. He had never thought that she would leave without saying a word. Subconsciously, he was sure that she had yet arrived.

As he waited, he called his men and ordered them to send food and daily necessities to the hospital. He did not forget to appoint a nanny in caring forthem.

After having dealt with it all, 15 minutes had passed. The sky was starting to darken, but there was no sign of Lauren.

It was not until half- past eight that Willy called Lauren and asked her where she was.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable. Please call again later..."

After several consecutive calls, no one answered the phone. Lowering his hand, Willy frowned. "What's wrong? Can't she pick up the phone?" He

pondered.

He then proceeded to send her a message. As if he had waited for a century, he finally received a reply, but it was an extremely indifferent message.

"You're late! I've never waited for anyone! Our date is over!"

Willy could not believe his eyes. What did she mean? Had she come over and left?
