Chapter 1537
In the chaos, Wyatt's eyes were involuntarily drawn to a woman's figure.
The woman's curves were exquisite with the lines on her body beautiful. She wore a tight black upper outer garment with lace and a half-covered bright ruby red mermaid dress on her body, which cleverly wrapped around her body and outlined her curves. Her delicate arms, slender legs and the occasional twisting of her waist turned her all the more bewitching. It was strange that although there was a large crowd dancing, she was eyecatching and stood out in the crowd.
Subconsciously, the image of a little girl raising her hand flitted through his mind. Without realizing so, Wyatt curled the corner of his lips into a smirk.
Sure enough, he was picky. Only women with a particularly alluring figure and an outstanding temperament would itch his heart!
Her figure from behind was breathtaking, and she could dance. The proportion and curve could indeed stimulate men's instincts!
Little did he know that even after years and at his age, he could be so awed by a woman even if he was past the year of being a young teenager and had constantly mingled in pools of women!
After being in a trance for two seconds, Wyatt turned around without realizing it.
On the dance floor, Waverly and Xena had been separated. Engaging with her in dance was an unfamiliar man. He was skilled, and while she had a deep understanding of dance and music, such an entertaining game was not to test her dancing skills but to mainly tested her adaptiveness and reaction to sudden changes. It was why it was not a tough task for Waverly to cooperate with him and remain on the stage.
The dance music changed from a fast-paced salsa to a melodious waltz in an instant. Turning around, Waverly grabbed a man's hand. As she shifted her steps and put her body in place, she rested her other hand on the man's shoulder. As soon as their eyes met, Waverly's face paled along with the pausing of her steps.
Wasn't he the man Wyatt had a fight with and had poured her alcohol?
Very obviously, Quill was equally stunned, but he came to his senses before she could. Just as Waverly was about to step out of the game, Quill tightened his grip around her hand. With a twist of his body, he took the lead in pushing the two of them back onto the right track.
Waverly stared at the man in front of her with shocked eyes. Her heart nervously thumped as she had no idea what he was plotting. Being on pins and needles, she did not notice what was happening at the door.
After seeing her face clearly, Wyatt's face turned another shade darker. In an instant, all the innocent and beautiful feelings swirling in his heart changed their flavor. After a few days of calmness, the lake in his heart stirred with horrifying waves. He could no longer hold it in and was plunged into a mess.
It was her?
How could it be her?
Why was it her again?
A feeling of falling into her setup trap and having nowhere to escape deeply enveloped him whole. His gaze seemed to be attached to her. Looking at the dancing crowd and the glaring embrace, Wyatt clenched his fists and turned around, seething. Swinging his hand off, he strode away.
What bad luck! Why did he look around for no reason?
Why did he look at what he shouldn't but not what he should instead!
When he left, Wyatt's face was gloomy to the core.
On the dance floor, it was probably the most heart-rending part of Waverly's dance. She was afraid that Quill harbored a bad idea to make a fool out of herself, so it was the first time she wanted nothing more than for the music to be changed.
Panicking, Waverly stepped on Quill several times as her mind flashed with the idea of giving up. As she turned around, her feet knocked against his once more. Although she hurriedly withdrew her feet, she instinctively raised her head to apologize.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
She didn't mean it!
When she saw that there was not a response from Quill, the last words disappeared at the tip of her tongue as her body tensed.
It was the first time that they got so close to each other. Others said that dance was considered to be a language, an action language. Quill mastered all types of dances well. There was a reason behind its purpose. It was for Raynee, for the sake of sharing the same language with her, for more contact with her, and to win her favor!
Unfortunately, he could not manage to defeat Wyatt even if he did it all for Raynee's sake!
In the usual sense, he felt that he should be hating the woman before him, but for some reason, Quill felt a spark of wonderful and special feelings in his heart after the dance. He could sense her nervousness and sincerity. Although she had stepped on his feet more than once, Quill didn't feel the slightest sense of uncomfortableness, let alone anger or anything else, wondering if it was a result of his appreciation and admiration for her having the same dancing interest or having been conquered by her agile dance. His gaze was clearly mixed with other emotions.
Through the round of dancing, Quill did not say a word. All that remained was him looking at Waverly with a deeper exploration and fondness.
Soon, the music changed, it was ngo music. With a gorgeous spiral, Waverly turned around and deliberately drew herself out from his embrace and shifted to one side to grab hold of another single man.
He understood the meaning of her actions. Soon, Quill found himself a new partner, but he caught himself chasing after her every action from the corner of his eyes.
Round after round. Soon, when the
dance music changed again,
Waverly returned to Quill's arms. When she intended to turn around, a large hand seized her fingertips. Then, a big palm came to hepwaist and guided her in turning around. Quill blocked off all the attacks that came reaching for her. Without realizing it, Waverly frowned. Unlike her nervous self in the previous round, she remained composed and gave a net twist of her body as she questioned with a whisper.
"You did it on purpose! What are you doing?"
The corners of Quill's lips lifted slightly. The movements under his feet were not disordered at all. In fact, he had learned dance for so
long. Other than his tutor, he had never danced so carefreely. On one hand, he was a man and did not favor the industry. On the other hand, he did not have time to do so. Of course, the most important thing was that he did not have a suitable dance partner and would occasionally dance when he attended social gatherings. That day, he stepped onto the dance floor purely to join in the fun. In fact, he had always dreamed of a day when he could dance with Raynee. Under the attention of thousands of people, they would be the most dazzling pair in bearing the heaving gaze of the onlookers around them.
Right then, the purpose and dream of learning dance over time seemed to come
true. Such a wonderful feeling led him to question if he was in a dream.
"Don't you want the golden rose?"
His calm reply vaguely revealed a different kind of confidence in him. In other
words, he meant to imply that he could assist her in obtaining the largest golden
rose.
She didn't understand what he meant, but Waverly could feel that he didn't mean any harm. In a daze, she felt as though she was out of her mind and had an illusion, so Waverly did not say anything more.
On the other side, Wyatt returned to the dining table and started pouring more wine into his goblet. His face was as dark as if it was smeared with ashes at the bottom of a pan. Initially, the atmosphere at the table had been warm and lively, but all it took was Wyatt's icy face and a moment for the atmosphere to turn cold. On the other end of the table, the two men with their faces flushed nudged each other by the elbow, exchanging glances without making a sound.
In the end, a man in a gray-framed suit stood up and said while filling the glassesnoveldrama
to liven up the atmosphere.
"Since we're full, we shouldn't sit still. Let's seek entertainment programs, shall
we?"
With him taking the initiative to talk, others went on to say.
"Let's sing karaoke! I heard that two new young girls, Dahlia and Bella, are one of
a kind. They are all beautiful! I heard that they were trained well. Their skills in bed
are amazing!"
"I've heard about it! You know how impressive they are to be able to entertain eleven guests per day! Alas, I heard that the one named Bella has a unique skill! She can entertain three guests simultaneously and satisfy them to the point of them returning to her more than once! The price is costly. She charges 500,000 dollars a night, yet well have to wait in line!" "How one of a kind is that?"
"In short, rumor has it that a rich man has booked the place for half a month. He lives in the Night Pearl Clubhouse and is only one step away from bankruptcy!" "Haha! Waverly is so awesome! It's no wonder the Night Pearl Clubhouse is so happening recently!" "They're in the limelight!"
Wyatt was initially irritated, not to mention how their constant chattering irritated him. Although he knew that they didn't mean it, he had no idea why he was so mad as though his heart was set on fire after being poured gasoline. After his glass smashed to the ground, Wyatt shattered the glass into halves.
All the noise came to an abrupt end. No one knew what was going on, but Seth
could vaguely sense the awkward atmosphere. He quickly got up and held the glass that was about to fall.
"Why is the quality of these glasses so bad?
Waiter..."
With a clear shout, his eyes darted to the side, which helped ease the situation. Everyone roughly understood that it wasn't a pleasant topic, so they shut up. Right then, someone stepped forward to change the topic.
"I heard that the Dancing Kingdom Festival is being held at the Sunshine International Hotel today. It is quite grand and lively, and many young ladies were invited. With such a convenient entertainment program nearby, why should we go somewhere else? Is everyone interested? If you are, I'll take responsibility to arrange for invitation cards!"
"Great idea! Great idea!"
The crowd agreed. The curvy figure and the beautiful face appeared once more in
Wyatt's chaotic mind. Her voice, smile, and thoughts lingered on in his mind. The
expression on his face altered several times, but he wondered why he couldn't get the words of refusal out of his mouth.
Seeing that he seemed to have no objection, everyone was relieved. The man stood up and got down to work.
What do you think?
