After dinner, Chase stayed around to play chess with Mr. Lynch for a while. Only at about 8 p.m did he get ready to leave.

"Freya, hurry up and see Chase off." Mrs. Lynch nudged Freya. "Aren't you close to Chase?"

Freya was speechless. Her parents had made their intention way too obvious tonight.

"Did my mom post Chase's photo?" As Freya was speaking, she tapped open her Instagram and soon found the photo her mother posted. The photo showed some dishes on the table that included Chase's hand getting his food.

"I recognized Chase's watch," Ryan told the truth. No one knew how upset he felt. He had been absent-minded even throughout the dinner tonight.

"I tend to be a lot more alert to single men around my girlfriend," Ryan said weakly.

Freya was stunned. "Are you jealous?"

Ryan let out a deep laugh. "You finally noticed it. You're quite close to Chase, huh? Both of you sang and drank together. He even went to your house for a meal. Your parents should be quite fond of him, right?"
