Chapter 346
Chapter 346
Sofia’s pov
I had been brimming with excitement after Luca had informed me that Angelo was going to come see
me today, and now that he was outside, it was as if I had been about to burst out of my skin from the
amount of excitement that was rushing through my body.
Ryan left to go get Angelo, and I stayed behind because I had started to feel a little bit emotional and
wanted to get myself under control. I head towards the sitting room as the sound of the door closing
shut echoed around a little, just as Ryan appeared in the entrance of the sitting room, and a fleeting
moment later, Angelo arrived at his side.
I had a feeling that because I had talked to Ryan about Angelo a few times which made him know just
how much I loved him, was probably what made me turn on his heels and leabe, leaving Angelo and I
to ourselves.
My mouth parted and close a couple of times but nothing seem to be coming out, it was as if the ability
to form words had now decided to desert me in this moment. It was still very hard to believe that this
was Angelo, right before me. If someone had ever told me that this was going to ever happen after I
had gotten married to Luca, when I was still back at my father’s house, I’d have laughed in the person’s
face.
But here I was, staring at Angelo right now, and still finding it hard to accept it. After a fleeting moment,
I realized that I couldn’t see him clearly anymore, just as I felt cool liquid slide down my cheeks.
I was crying, because it still feels so unreal. And just as a sob began to build in my throat, I rushed
towards him, just as he closed the distance between us to envelop me in his arms. The dam broke in
that moment and before I even realized it, I was sobbing in his arms and squeezing him tight, because
it felt like I was dreaming and was going to wake up any moment from now to realize that all this wasn’t
real and had just been one of my many absurd dreams.
“I can’t believe you’re here right now.” I whispered when I finally pulled out of his arms to blink at him,
taking in his whole appearance in after that moment.
His eyes were a little bit red rimmed, but apart from that, thete wasn’t anything on his face to give away
the fact that he was really feeling emotional right now, the way I was very sure he was currently feeling.
“I can’t believe it too,” He spoke after a few moments of just staring at me, and I instantly noted just
how deep his voice had become, it was way deeper than I usually imagined it to be, and how I last
remembered it sounding.
I sniffed a little and pulled him into a hug once again. Before Luca, he was the only male I’ve ever
hugged and he gives the best hugs even since then.
“Sofia…” He said my name on a whisper, like it was a preyed and when I pulled out of his arms once
again to glance up at him, he spoke. “You feel so real… I didn’t think- didn’t think I’d ever get to hug
you like this ever again.”
His voice was low as he spoke, he sounded so different from what I remembered, it’s insane how he
had physically changed so much in the amount of time which I last saw him.
“Me too, Angelo… me too, I never thought it would ever be possible.” I whispered in response and a
small smile pulled at the sides of my lips as I took a few steps away from him to look him up and down C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
thoroughly.
“You’ve changed so much,” I noted and that was the first time he was cracking a smile since he arrived
here, and I watched as he ran his fingers through his hair, a shy expression taking over his face.
“You too, Sofia. You too.” He finally responded.
———-
Angelo had grown way more broader than I used to remember and it’s really outrageous that his voice
has deepened to such an expectation at such a young age, he wasn’t even up to eighteen yet. He has
lost all his childish looks and in place of that, was a man way older than eighteen, that had experienced
a lot in life to make him become tougher.
“You’ve groan so taller than I used to remember.” I mused as I handed him a glass of drink and sank
into the spot beside him on the couch. He breathed out a smslll chuckle at that as he shrugged a little.
“Everyone says that, they say I’m still going to grow bigger since I am a growing boy.” He responded
and I laughed a little.
“That must be nice, I stopped growing at sixteen or so.” I hummed out after a moment and he let out a
small huff.
“It’s a good thing I’m still growing, you know it’s going to benefit me more in the mafia world, everyone
says so.” He pointed out and that was when I sat up.
“Who’s the ‘everyone’?”
“Oh, those are father, my boxing coaches and shooting lessons guide, amongst with most of my
friends.” Be responded and I felt my heart slow down a little, of course he’d have gone deeper in the
whole mafia thing, why I had I ever thought that wasn’t going to be the case?
“You now have friends?” I decided to ask instead and he got a bashful look on his face this time,
revealing the child which I still knew was in him.
“Yeah, I do. A little though, they help me not get lost in my head.” He paused and shrugged a little. “You
know, it was really harder on me than I expected when you left.”
I felt my heart squeeze tight in my chest and I was reaching out to take his hand in mine, squeezing
tight.
