Rejecting Strawberries Chapter 7
A clunking sound brought me out of my thoughts. Once again, I was out of my memories, and back in the cell at the Council.

I didn’t really have control after that. I didn’t want it. Everything that was my light had disappeared. It was a few more years before I found myself out of the darkness. But it wasn’t until she returned to town, returned to me before I really had any sort of control.
But it was too late. He had done so many horrible things. I had done so many horrible things. I didn’t deserve her love. I still watched from the background until the day of the battle outside the pack house. My mum had said that it was the reckoning. I needed to make amends. That started with helping Louise in the office. It wasn’t enough, but it was a start.
I stopped in mid-thought. Was that what I thought it was? I sniffed the air around me, and my senses were immediately flooded with the beautiful scent of strawberries.
I took a deep breath to get a lungful of the heavenly scent.
“Ah,” I sighed, “Strawberries.”
