Chapter 37: You have more than hate for me
Cindy frowned at the closed room door and muttered, “He’s not that bored.”
“He has no reason to do that, it’s not like I’m his anymore.”
Noman lowered her head, her voice muffled, “Cindy, if he’s really waiting outside for you, trying to be with you, to break the ice …”
Snap.
Cindy a pillow thrown over, hit Noman back.
“I think you’ve really been watching too many idol dramas.” Cindy went and washed up briefly and lay down on the bed.
The way Eric looked at her today flashed in her mind.
It seemed, indeed, a little different.
But the next second, Cindy overturned all those strange thoughts.
Either Eric was trying to set her up again, or he couldn’t see his ex-wife having a good time, and that damned possessiveness of men was at work.
That’s all.
Noman washed her hair and when he came out of the bathroom, Cindy was already asleep wrapped in the covers.
Her light snoring could still be heard in the room.
Noman laughed to himself and dimmed the lights in the room, “You really don’t think of me as a man.”
She trusts him that much? No defenses at all.
He looked at Cindy for a while before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
It was early in the morning.
Cindy woke up from her dream. She dreamed again about the day Scott Group went bankrupt and when Eric destroyed Scott’s house.
Her hands were shaking.
She got out of bed barefoot and filled two large glasses of cold water before she felt more comfortable.
Look at the time again, two fifteen.
Cindy, however, was already sleepless. She had spent almost every day for over a year like this, tormented by nightmares.
She looked at Noman, who was still sleeping, opened the door, and walked out gently.
Originally, she thought she could go out into the hall for a breeze and a cup of coffee, but unexpectedly, she bumped into someone who was also awake.
Cindy’s steps slowed as Eric stood by the window in the hallway, seemingly talking to a partner, his eyes firm and stoic as he gazed out at the late night before him.
The outline of his side face reflected on the glass; any woman would be charmed by his look of him.
Once Cindy was the same, obsessed with him.
She faintly averted her eyes, walked to the vending machine, swiped the QR code, and bought an iced coffee.
Then naturally, she sat down and drew a magazine and looked through it.
As for Eric, she just treated him as air.
The man had long noticed her, his eyes gradually changed, and he said to the phone, “Okay, I’ll talk to President William after we meet tomorrow.”
Then, hung up.
He didn’t go back to his room but walked toward Cindy.
“You …”
He just opened his mouth to say a word, Cindy threw the empty bottle she finished drinking onto the table, “Mr. Miller can rest assured that I didn’t hear anything just now and won’t leak half a word to the public.”
Cindy got up, instead of being under one roof with Eric, she would rather go back to her bed and laze around.
Just then, however, the door to the opposite room opened.
Inside came out a beautiful woman with a sexy figure, wearing only a silk camisole pajama.
That face is crystal white, a smile is so seductive, hair is still dripping, obviously just took a shower.
At the same time, all three people froze.
“… Cindy?”
“… Linda?”
