Chapter 1015
Upon seeing how much pain and shock Rosalie was in, Theodore sighed.
"Now that you've seen it for yourself, do you still think I'm lying and making a mountain out of a molehill?" he asked.
Rosalie stayed silent.
"Do you really think Sebastian didn't intend to kill me with all those bodyguards he brought in tow? Had I not snatched his gun away, the odds wouldn't have been in my favor. The video made things very clear. Are you still going to speak up for him?"
He was waiting to see how Rosalie would justify Sebastian's actions.
Rosalie shut her eyes, trying her best to keep the pain and shock she was feeling in check.
After a long while, she looked up at Theodore.
"I'm sorry for misunderstanding you. I thought...I thought things weren't so bad. I thought....."
Rosalie's throat hurt-she couldn't speak any further. As it turns out, she had thought wrongly and Sebastian had indeed done what Theodore said he did.
Instead of killing Sebastian under those circumstances, Theodore chose to focus his attention and energy on searching for her.
Her ex-husband cared so much for her.
But if Theodore loved her so much, how did things between them end up like this?
He had Cynthia before they got divorced.
Now, he had Aurora.
But no matter what, she had indeed misunderstood Theodore regarding this incident.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Even if...even if Theodore called the police, there was nothing more she could say.
Theodore thought Rosalie would defend Sebastian and speak up for him without any hesitation. In fact...he thought she might even insist that the video was nothing but a misunderstanding.
He didn't expect to see such a reaction from her.
Suddenly, Theodore was at a loss for what to do.
He had mentally prepared himself to feel upset and hopeless once more. What he didn't expect was for Rosalie to give him hope anew.
Rosalie was probably the only person in the world who could send his mood soaring and crashing like this.
Theodore patted Rosalie's shoulder gently.
"Well, if I were to call the police now, would you still stop me?" he asked.
Rosalie wiped the tears from her face. "Theo, I know Seb hurt you and I'm ashamed to beg you to let him go, but...but he's..."
"He's what?!" Theodore asked.
The hesitation on Rosalie's face made it seem as though something else had happened to Sebastian.
"Theo, a few hours ago, Seb received
a call from home informing him that something had happened to his
company, so he rushed back on a
ет
flight. Even if you call the police.right now, you won't be able to catch him."
Theodore's face stiffened. "What did you say? He fled?!"
"Something cropped up at work so he went back," Rosalie said.
Theodore stood up. "Why did he go back at a time like this? Isn't that too much of a coincidence? Did he get a tip-off and run back in guilt?"
Sebastian wasn't from Melrine, and it would be difficult for the Melrine police to catch him after he returned home. Melrine and Blencalgo didn't share an extradition agreement.
Given Sebastian's influence back
home, as long as he didn't return to
Melrine, the police here wouldn't
vel
have any way of catching him. Melrine didn't have any law enforcement powers over their
home country.
It was basically impossible to catch Sebastian now that he had fled home.
Rosalie stood up. "No, he left in a
et
hurry after receiving a call. It was about work.. So many things happened recently and he lost his memories, too. The shareholders of his company started going on the offense, forcing him to return home."
