Chapter 107
1 was still trying to process what had just happened outside with the girl from the restaurant. It was like my brain was taking a little longer to fully digest whatever this girl had to say, nothing she said was ever clear, it always required few seconds of thoughts. It was like she was speaking in a language I was not very fluent in.
We were speaking the same language, why was I always so lost? On top of always saying things that made her seem like an alien, she had to behave like one too. The act she just put on in front of Kira was completely unnecessary and unplanned. We never discussed, I never agreed to her pretending like we had sex.
My hand was still wrapped tightly around her arm the way I showed her out of the living room. She shoved me away and laughed claiming she had helped me out by making it seem like we had slept together. I was confused and frustrated, and I couldn’t understand why she would do such a thing
“Why did you do that?” I asked her, trying to keep my cool. I was angry, but I didn’t want to show it. I wanted to understand her motivations, her reasoning. It seemed to make sense sometimes and the other times, she made you want to drive a wench up her throat and leave it there so not one more word came out of her mouth again for the rest of her life.
“I helped you out. Aston, she replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You should be thanking me.” I was really doing my best to keep it together and be civilised because I knew you well that if it was back at the pack, I would have head on her tray by now and there would be no one around to sympathise with her.
“Thanking you?” I repeated, my anger rising. “You made everything worse! You acted like we f**d, and now Kira thinks… 1 was still going off on her when she cut me off with a loud huff. I felt like exploding just talking to this girl, I was losing my freaking mind. Kira didn’t even talk back to me this much and I thought she was the most disrespectful girl on the planet.
“Oh, that’s the point, she interrupted, her eyes glinting with amusement. I wanted to make her think that.” Was this girl really mad? Did I really let a mad woman into my house without knowing? She looked relatively normal though so what the hell was going ont
1 felt a surge of rage at her words, and I had to restrain myself from lashing out at her. How could she be so cruel and manipulative? Didn’t she know that she was playing with fire, that she was messing with people’s emotions? I didn’t care if she was mad, she had crossed a line and I was not happy about it,
But then, something strange happened. She told me to stop fretting and go get my girl, claiming that Kira had looked ready to kill her in the restaurant and even in the kitchen just now. One of us had to be blind while the other would be wrong because we were definitely not seeing the same thing. All I saw was a woman who didn’t look like she gave two shits about whose legs 1 spread and put my d**k in
Even back in the kitchen now, it was embarrassing because it looked like I was trying hard to make her jealous by telling the girl to tell her about last night that didn’t even happen but she didn’t seem to care what happened. She looked like she would much rather watch the news than listen to what she had to say, completely uninterested.
Despite all of that, this girl was convinced that we made Kira jealous. She had that same look in her eyes that she had when she pointed that I was trying to make Kira jealous and she was right.
I was still taken aback by her words though, and I couldn’t understand why she would say such a thing
“What do you mean?” I asked her, my curiosity getting the better of me. “What did you see in Kira’s eyes?” I had completely set my anger aside, curiosity replacing it. She was like some sort of Cupid and I was shamelessly listening to her because I was interested in what she had to say because I was interested in Kira.
Oh how the mighty had fallen.
I can read other women, Aston, she replied, her voice confident “And I saw through Kira’s nice act. She’s not as innocent as she seems or she she’s pretending to beOriginal from NôvelDrama.Org.
I was a little surprised by her words, and I couldn’t help but wonder if she was telling the truth or she was just stringing me along because she was bored and I looked desperate.
B B ·
Was Kira really jealous, like this girl claimed? I had never seen any signs of jealousy in Kira before, but then again, I had never really looked for them. I wouldn’t know what to look for even I was to do it. I knew when I felt jealousy but I never really paid attention to how it looked like on others. Especially women.
“You do realize that if you’re wrong about her being jealous then you’re going to make me look desperate for attention and it’s going to be the most embarrassing moment of my life right?
She giggles. “I understand that your pride is at stake but I can bet my life on it that she’s so jealous, she’s about to explode in there.” She reassures and I would have had no doubt at all if she knew who I was. If she knew that I could actually go through with the bet that involved her life.
She was a little disrespectful and I wasn’t used to that but it felt good to speak to someone that didn’t know about my power and identity. She was so real about everything and she wasn’t afraid to say the things on her mind because she didn’t know who I was. Although I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be very different if she knew who I was. She was fearless.
After a few more exchanges, I took her number and I bid the girl goodbye and headed back into the house. Kira was washing the plates and humming a song, seemingly oblivious to the tension that had just passed between us.
“Hey, did you have breakfast?” I asked her, trying to sound casual, I didn’t want to accuse her of anything, not yet. I just wanted to see how she would react
“No, I poured the meal that girl prepared away,” she replied, her voice dripping with disdain. “It tasted horrible.”
I raised an eyebrow at her words, wondering if she was really jealous like that girl had claimed. Would she really be so petty as to throw away a meal just because it was prepared by someone she saw as a rival? I was getting excited at that was when I noticed the frown on her face. Her fake smiles were not fooling me anymore. I could see through them now. Turns out that girl was right after all.
“Did you sleep well last night?” I asked her, trying to probe further. I wanted to see if she would crack, if she would show any more signs of weakness.
“Yeah, I slept like a baby,” she replied, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “I didn’t hear any noise.”
I felt a pang of guilt at her words, knowing that I had stayed up late with that girl. I had been so caught up in my own desires that I hadn’t even considered how my actions might affect Kira.
“Are you jealous?” I asked her, my voice barely above a whisper. I didn’t want to accuse her of anything, not yet. I just wanted to see how she would react. I couldn’t wait for her to go on a binge on how much she was jealous, it would ne priceless.
Kira snarled at me, her eyes flashing with anger. “Stop saying bu**it, Aston,” she spat. “Only a fool would be jealous in this situation.” She spat, annoyance spread across her face, she looked like she was ready to beat me up I bothered her too much. Telt surge of frustration at her words, knowing that she was denying the truth. But I couldn’t push the issue further, not now. I had to bide any time and wait for the right moment to confront her about her true feelings.
But as 1 looked at her, I couldn’t help but wonder if that girl had been telling the truth. Was Kira really jealous, or was she just hiding her true feelings behind a mask
