Chapter 27 Take It Easy
Chapter 27 Take It Easy
"Don't think you can get away from this by hiding. I'm telling you this for your good. I won't let up on you
because you did have made mistakes this time."
Lorenzo gave her an sullen stare.
"I did that for a reason! I don't want to owe you too much. I should live on my own. If I count on you for
everything, then what if you're not there for me someday? That will only get me killed faster. And... I
didn't ignore your message on purpose."
Jessica explained as she lowered her head. What Lorenzo just said made her feel more guilty.
"Why are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?"
Lorenzo scoffed.
"We're very different, like from two different worlds."
Jessica muttered quietly.
Lorenzo suddenly felt a bit desperate. He had never felt afraid of anything throughout his life, but this
time, he felt a bit anxious.
He did have feelings for Jessica. This was the first time he got so excited because of a text. He had
worked overtime just to save more time and get back to be with her.
However, Jessica was so distant from him when they met. Lorenzo felt as if a huge stone had crushed
his heart.
"You little fool."
Lorenzo shook his head helplessly, laughing and mocking himself.
"I've told everything. I really didn't know what to do if you insist on what you're thinking."
Jessica was a bit afraid, but she didn't want to show weakness, so she decided to put all her cards on
the table.
"You're always in such a hurry to distance yourself from me. You should show me your sincerity. I won't
accept such a perfunctory thanks."
Lorenzo said as he raised his eyebrows, looking at Jessica with a smile.
"I've said and done everything I could. Why are you being so insistent? What else do you want?"
Jessica pouted and muttered grouchily.
"You tell me... What can I get from you? You don't have as much money as me, and you aren't capable
enough, too... Then what's left is just... You know what I mean." All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
"Stop talking nonsense."
Jessica blushed and hurriedly raised her hand to cover his mouth so he wouldn't continue.
Both of them held a place for each other in their hearts, but neither of them would speak that out,
because they each had their own concerns.
The moment their eyes met, the two could no longer hold other people in their hearts.
"The man we met in the hut... Were you arranged to marry him when you were young?"
Lorenzo took Jessica's hand off. His mood went bad again as soon as he thought of what had
happened.
"It was a long time ago."
Jessica nodded slowly. She wanted to hide from this topic, but she had nowhere to run.
"I have to tell you one thing. You're married to me now, and you should avoid meeting those irrelevant
people. If he harasses you or badgers you again, I'll go and teach him a lesson, but then I'll come to
you for an explanation."
Lorenzo had made his point clear. Jessica could only be his.
"I'm very clear with that. You don't have to remind me."
Jessica answered affirmatively.
Seeing the half-mask on Jessica's face, Lorenzo wanted to take it off subconsciously, yet only to be
stopped by Jessica.
She wouldn't let anyone take it off.
"Has the man in the hut seen how you look like before?"
Lorenzo knew that Jessica didn't want to take it off, so he didn't force her.
"He never saw it."
Jessica said as she shook her head. No one had seen her face except for her mother.
Lorenzo was getting more and more curious about her, for her eyes always looked clear and pretty.
He really wondered to know Jessica's real look behind the fox mask.
He knew he might fall for her.
Thinking of that, Lorenzo couldn't help leaning over to kiss her.
Jessica's mind froze for a moment. This is the last line she wanted to draw between her and Lorenzo.
She had sworn that she would never cross it, but now Lorenzo wiped it off so quickly.
"I'm warning you. You should really stop now, or you wouldn't want to see me getting rude to you."
Jessica said it as her heartbeat exhilarated.
"It's totally legal for me to kiss my wife. I really wonder how rude you can be."
Lorenzo's eyes were as deep as an ocean of mysteries. He looked drawling but dangerous.
He kissed Jessica because he wanted to see her angry face.
"Lorenzo, I've lost something in the room. I need to... Eh? Where are you? I can't find it..."
Lucian was back because he lost his keys here. However, as soon as he opened the door, he saw the
spicy scene in the room. Thinking that Lorenzo might kill him, Lucian turned over and pretended that he
hadn't seen anyone.
Lorenzo reacted quickly and protected Jessica in his arms. His good mood instantly turned gloomy, and
he fiercely glared at Lucian, who was standing at the door.
"Eh? This is weird. Where's Lorenzo? He was here just now. Why am I not seeing anyone? This is
weird..."
Lucian was a cheeky bugger. He changed the subject as if he hadn't seen anything. Then he sighed to
himself and said that it wasn't his lucky day today. Then he pretended to check the downstairs and
disappeared at the door in the blink of an eye.
"Don't get crazy on me again. That's so embarrassing."
Jessica blushed like a little girl who had made mistakes and been caught on site. She glared at
Lorenzo and pushed him away.
"Take it easy."
Lorenzo didn't push Jessica again. He raised his eyebrows slightly and then turned away gracefully.
Lorenzo then walked into the small garden of the hospital. He was so tall and always gave an
overwhelming aura even if he hadn't said anything. He was like the favored son of God, and wherever
he went, he would immediately hold the limelight.
He couldn't calm himself down until several cigarettes later. Finally. he grinned a weak smile and drank
a cup of coffee before going back.
As soon as he pushed the door open, he saw Jessica sleeping on the sofa. She wasn't sleeping deep,
given how she frowned from time to time.
"I know you haven't eaten anything yet. So I ordered a takeaway. I don't know if you like it, but you
should just eat a little. Or you might hurt your stomach." Jessica left a note.
Lorenzo was moved that the ungrateful petty woman finally remembered he hadn't had anything.
Thinking of that, Lorenzo suddenly felt better.
The lunge was just a temporary place, and the sofa was the only place one could lie on.
The sofa didn't feel very comfortable, but it was better than sleeping on the desk. However, Jessica
was occupying the whole place now, and there was no space left.
When Lorenzo barely lay down on it, he had to hug Jessica tight in his arms so that she wouldn't fall
off.
Jessica felt soft and smelled fragrant, which made Lorenzo feel more than comfortable.
It was already summertime, but it was still a bit cold at night. Jessica was Lorenzo's only warmth now.
Jessica smelled a familiar scent in her sleep. She knew it was Lorenzo because the scent was unique
to him. In the depth of her mind, she suddenly felt clingy to him.
This man always made her feel calm and secure. She was obsessed with the feeling, and even if it only
lasted for a moment, she just couldn't help lingering on it.
No matter what they would be faced with in the future, all Jessica wanted now was to feel secured by
Lorenzo's side. She couldn't help getting closer to him, and finally cuddled up to him.
Jessica seemed to be in a good mood, and she was even smiling. Maybe it was because she had
gained much sense of security.
Lorenzo raised his hand in satisfaction and patted Jessica's back as if he were getting a little girl to
sleep.
