Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella)

Chapter 704

But in front of Yvonne, how could she possibly back down? She shot back immediately, "Please, more like I should be chasing you down!"

Yvonne's sharp retort earned a dramatic gasp. "Excuse me?!"

Before she could say anything else, the leader of the group, a burly guy with a mean look in his eyes, raised his fist and barked, "Alright, boys-let's give Ms. Quinn a real warm welcome. Loosen her up, will ya?"

His tone was downright vicious, and the words "loosen her up” sounded more like a threat than an invitation.

Yvonne muttered under her breath, "Oh, for crying out loud. They really are here for me?"

Whose goons were these? Dan Murray's? Or maybe Aira Wilson's?noveldrama

The moment the order was given, a dozen thugs swarmed at Yvonne all at once.

She whipped out her pistol and took out the first guy who lunged at her.

But there were too many, and they were too close. Even with her skills, she couldn't keep the upper hand for long.

Before she knew it, the whole thing had turned into a chaotic brawl.

Skye, meanwhile, just stood off to the side, arms crossed, watching the show. Yvonne gritted her teeth and snapped, "Skye, you damn traitor! Having fun over there?"

"Beg me. Tell me all those fancy gadgets are mine, and I'll jump in right now."

Yvonne nearly exploded. "Are you kidding me?!”

This woman had already stolen enough from her, and now she wanted everything? The nerve!

Fuming, Yvonne could barely contain herself. "You must be out of your mind."

Give Skye her stash of goodies? Not in a million years.

Skye just rolled her eyes, arms still crossed, and kept spectating.

Yvonne glared. "You're done for, Skye. I swear, after this, you're toast."

Skye just snorted. "You should be thinking about how you're gonna get out of this mess alive, not about payback."

These guys weren't amateurs-they were here to take Yvonne out, no doubt about it.

As if to prove the point, one of the thugs behind Yvonne pulled out a gleaming switchblade and lunged at her.

Skye's eyes narrowed. With a flick of her wrist, a slender silver dart shot from between her fingers, headed straight for the man's face.

The knife stopped just an inch from Yvonne's head. The guy shrieked and dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Skye kept up her tough act. "Just so you know, unless you hand over your stash, you can forget about me saving you."

"Like I care if you save me!" Yvonne yelled back.

17.

As soon as the words left her mouth, Skye's dart found another target, knocking a second thug out cold. "You know what your problem is? You're too proud-and way too stingy. You should take a lesson from your brother."

Yvonne was speechless. "Excuse me?!"

Skye kept going, "Look at Ron. He buys Stella all kinds of great stuff, never bats an eye."

Ronald Quinn's love for Stella was legendary. Over the years, he'd showered her with everything under the sun.

Just look at their wedding-Skye had only passed by the venue yesterday, and even just a glance had made her, a sworn bachelorette, almost want to tie the knot herself.

Comparing herself to Stella? That

was the last straw for Yvonne. She was practically fuming. "You? Compare yourself to Stella? My brother and Stella are soulmates. You and I-what even are we? Stingy? I'll show you stingy

How could Skye even suggest they were on the same level?

Skye huffed, "Doesn't matter. If you want my help, you know what you need to do: hand over the goods."

Her voice was ice cold, her stance unyielding.

But to be honest, Skye had already taken out four or five of the attackers. The rest had no idea what had hit them, leaving Yvonne to mop

up the last few with barely any effort at all.
