Chapter 8 Relationship of Trade
Chapter 8 Relationship of Trade
"Miss Clark."
Harriet was distressing, looked up when she heard someone calling her, and found that Wesley's
personal driver, Uncle Josh, came towards her.
"Uncle Josh, why are you here?" Harriet quickly hid the list and asked with a smile, "Is Wesley coming
back from the business trip?"
Uncle Josh nodded and said, "Wesley came back at noon. He called you once. After knowing that you
fainted, he sent me over to check if you were all right."
"It's okay, nothing wrong." Since it was Uncle Josh who came to pick her up, Harriet had to go. "Could Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
you wait for a second outside? I have to deal with some issues and will follow you back soon."
"Ok."
Uncle Josh went outside to wait. Harriet went back to the ward to pack up, and told Colin she would
come to see him tomorrow, "Nurse will come at night, remember to do rehabilitation training, alright?"
"Got it." Colin nodded, and asked in expectancy, "Harriet, will you cook for me tomorrow?"
Harriet gave him a white look, "No way! Eat your porridge!"
Colin was not satisfied with her answer.
If he only could eat the porridge every day, he might be faint by hunger before his legs recovered!
On the way home, Harriet went to the supermarket to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. She saw that
Wesley was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window and talking on the phone in English at home when
she got back.
His pure London accent was really attractive.
He was wearing black trousers and a white shirt, with his shirt cuffs slightly raised and his wrists
exposed. Harriet could not move her eyes away him by his indescribable charm.
This guy was not only rich, but also young and handsome. He would be the dream lover of countless
women. She just came up with the idea of being his girlfriend!
Harriet was shocked by her ridiculous idea.
Wesley glanced back at her. She quickly carried the vegetables to the kitchen with her heart punching
out of control.
“Harriet, don't think about it too much!”
Harriet knew that Wesley didn't like spicy food, so she cooked the dishes very light such as simmered
shrimp, seaweed soup, and several other dishes. The aroma pervaded through the room when they
were all pot on the table.
Wesley just finished the phone call and was already starved.
The meal was very delicious. The man enjoyed it with a smile as if to praise Harriet, "I didn't expect that
your cooking skills are getting better and better even though you are so busy in filming."
"That's because I care you very much." Harriet said calmly, "Furthermore, it is my responsibility to take
care of you. Filming is secondary important thing for me."
Wesley looked at her greedily with his horny eyes.
Harriet sensed his eager. Fortunately, she was sitting opposite him. Otherwise, the dining room would
be a mess.
"Enjoy more shrimps." She put the peeled shrimp into a Wesley's bowl, trying to change the topic, "You
said last time that you were going to take me to Seattle. Is there something you want me to do?
Wesley hummed.
He did not answer Harriet's question directly, but just said, "I called you before. A man claiming to be
your brother picked it up and said that you fainted at the hospital."
"That was really my brother, not someone else." Harriet knew he was in doubt, and said, "My brother
was seriously injured before and had been in a coma for two years. This was not a big deal. So I didn't
tell you. "
Upon hearing that, Wesley raised his eyebrows slightly, and seemed to understand something, staring
at her with his more frightening eye contact, "So the money you took from me over the past two years
has been spent on your brother?" "Yes, yeah ....." Harriet glanced at the man, feeling a little stunned.
Why did he ask that? Did he doubt what I said?
"Wesley, if you don't believe it ..." Harriet hesitated. She wanted to say that if he didn't believe it, she
could do a blood test with her brother, but she was interrupted by the man.
"If you don't have enough money, you can ask Jack Moor."
Jack Moor is Wesley's special assistant. Harriet met him twice when he came to the apartment to
deliver documents.
Harriet didn't know how to respond for a pause.
She thought the man was suspicious that she cheated on him, but did not expect that he was worried
she had not enough money to spend. And now she even got such a big permission to spend more
cash. She was touched by what he did.
After the dinner, Wesley received another phone call, which seemed to be an important matter. He
went to the study room to answer it. Harriet went to the bathroom to make ready bath water, and took
time to take the anti-fertility medicine prescribed by the doctor.
At least for now she wanted to keep the baby regardless if it would be aborted.
