Chapter 40
The lawyer felt like he might have stumbled upon some truths.
He returned to the Raymond Corporation, presenting the contract to lan in person.
“Mr. Raymond, Ms. Pennyfeather has signed the contract.”
lan looked at the signed document, his eyes lingering on the name Maja.
He flipped through It, frowning, “She didn’t make any demands?”
The lawyer shook his head, about to say that Ms. Penny leather not only didn’t make any demands but
was also eager to accept.
A sarcastic expression crossed lan’s face. He promised to handle the Pennyfeather family’s second
round of financing and agreed to postpone the divorce. She signed the contract without hesitation.
When they agreed to meet at noon, she might have thought it was about discussing the divorce, which
was why she deliberately didn’t show up.
He tossed the contract aside, not wanting to entangle himself with such a person any longer, “I got it.”
The lawyer felt his boss might have misunderstood something. He hesitated to speak up, but in the
end, he quietly left.
After all, they were about to divorce. It wouldn’t be a big deal if he didn’t know something, right?
After signing, Maja felt unprecedented relief.
The issue of the second round of financing was resolved, the divorce was settled, and she no longer
needed to worry about the Raymond family. All she had to do was perform. Now, the most important
thing was lan’s order.
He had helped her in some way this time, so she naturally had to work harder.
It seemed like she could arrange to meet the staff tomorrow, measure the room first, and then give the
plan and quotation.
She let out a sigh of relief. Just as she was washing up and preparing to lle down, Carol sent her a
location.
“Maja, I think I saw your sister here.”
BlueSky Bar?
Wasn’t this the location of the bar? There was no way Tricla, with her condition, could be drinking.
“Are
you sure you didn’t see wrong?”
“I’m sure it was her, but she disappeared when I turned my head. Do you want to come over and take a
look?”
Maja immediately got up, changed her clothes, and drove off.
Upon arriving at the BlueSky Bar, she showed her membership card. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Several of her previous clients liked to come here, so she had to get a membership card to do
business.
Once inside, Maja looked around.
There was a group of men and women chatting at the bar, and the seats in the corner were full of
people.
Carol waved at her, then pointed to the hallway at the far end.
“I caught a glimpse of her there just now. Should we split up and look for her?”
Maja nodded, and the two of them began to search in different directions.
The BlueSky Bar was massive, with several floors. Maja had just reached the second floor when she
heard Tricla’s familiar voice.
“I’m really not a hostess; I just… came to find someone.”
“Find someone? Tell me, who are you looking for? I know everyone in this bar. As long as you make
me happy, I’ll help you find them.”
‘No, let me go!”
Maja frowned, walked down the hallway, and saw that It was Kurt Gallegos who was holding onto
Tricla.
Tricia looked like she was about to cry. When she saw Maja, she shrank back and cautiously called
out, ‘Sis, why are you here?”
Kurt looked up, saw Maja, raised an eyebrow, and then sneered.
“Is this beautiful girl your sister?”
There were a few bodyguards following Kurt.
He jerked his chin slightly, and the bodyguards moved to Tricla’s side, pushing her aside.
“Mr. Gallegos, this is the BlueSky Bar. Causing a scene wouldn’t be very good, would it?”
Maja had been here before and knew that the owner of the BlueSky Bar had considerable influence.
No one dared cause trouble here, not even a Summit Bank heir like Kurt.
Kurt looked her up and down, and the more he looked, the hotter he felt.
“You escaped last time, but I won’t let you go this time.”
With Tricia in his hands, Maja asked calmly. “What do you want to do?”
The corners of Kurt’s mouth lifted slightly as he looked at his bodyguards, “Take her out and wait for me
in the car.”
Tricia was startled. She knew Kurt was bad news. She could only cry out, “Sls.”
Maja’s expression was a little cold as she heard Kurt say, “Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to this
beautiful girl. After all, you and lan have history.”
Tricla, who was being led away, froze, a look of disbelief flashing in her eyes, and then she bit her lip.
But neither Kurt nor Maja noticed that.
Kurt was annoyed that Maja was using her status as lan’s wife to pressure him, but she did have a history with lan.
He felt extremely embarrassed after being humiliated by lan that night. Coincidentally, wasn’t lan
upstairs playing cards with his friends tonight?
He could bring Maja over to show lan. The fact that this woman came to find him after being with lan
would help him regain some face.
