Desires Die Hard

Chapter 962

Chapter 962 He Does Not Like Dexter

"I'm sorry for being late. There was a research subject waiting for me to accomplish, sorry to keep you guys waiting." Dexter walked over quickly and explained to Cindy.

It seemed that he really cared about Cindy.

Cindy looked at him and tried to learn to accept him. So, she took a deep breath, stood up, and smiled at him, "It's OK. Sit down, please.

"We just arrived, too."

It was the first time for Cindy to smile at Dexter like that. He was surprised. He liked Cindy but he knew that he didn't deserve her and she didn't quite like him, either.

Cindy was so pretty and active.

But he was dull.

But he wanted to give it a try anyway. First, he liked her. Second, he was 28 years old now and it was time to get married. Besides, the Hoods were rich.

His family was regular. Only one of his uncles worked for the government, and his parents were retired teachers. Compared to the Hoods, his family was just plain.

But Cindy's parents didn't look down on him and were pretty nice to him.noveldrama

He wanted to clutch to her so that he could set foot in this city and get promoted more easily in the future.

Of course, he never told that to anyone else.

All he needed to do was to make Cindy happy.

He didn't expect that Cindy would call him today. He thought his efforts weren't wasted.

He sat down by Cindy.

Cindy then introduced Anya and Evan to him, "This is Mr. Welton, the CEO of the Welton Group. And that is his wife, Anya, my bestie."

Dexter listened to her anxiously. And his smile froze gradually.

The wealthy's friends were also wealthy.

And they were not ordinarily wealthy but like super-wealthy.

Anyone familiar with the finance industry would know Evan Welton.

The most famous tycoon in the city.

And he was worth nearly a hundred billion.

He didn't expect to meet such a tycoon.

Dexter was so nervous that he didn't know what to do now.

When Cindy finished speaking, Dexter squeezed a polite smile and said, "Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Welton."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Nielsen," Anya replied.

Evan looked at him and nodded at him.

He didn't like Dexter.

Dexter was no better than Raymond.

But this was Cindy's privacy, so he didn't say anything in the end.

Then they put the orders and began to enjoy the food.

The dishes were a little spicy, so Evan asked the waiter for a drink for Anya.

Or he was afraid that it might affect her breastfeeding.

Now that Evan was so considerate, Dexter wanted to do something for Cindy, too.

He kept serving the napkin and the dish for Cindy.

Besides, he would ask her from time to time, "What else do you want?"

"It's OK." Cindy was a little awkward.

She declined his help.

"Are you done yet?" Dexter kept asking.

"Yes, I've had it enough."

They talked on and off.

Evan suddenly stood up and said, "Excuse me."

Then he left for the lavatory.

Dexter then stood up, too. He wanted to make an acquaintance with Evan and exchange cards with him.
