Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 1051

The man's hands were bound, a black hood covering his face.

Connor glanced at Kash. "Who is he?"

Kash answered, "Caught him yesterday-big-time fraud. He broke out of holding before dawn, made a run for it, and ended up in Eagle Heights. We're just here to bring him in. Anyone who gets in the way, that's obstruction of justice."

Connor couldn't help but laugh.

To him, Kash was always so upright—unyielding, almost to a fault. He was the

kind of guy who couldn't stand even the slightest wrongdoing.

Who would've thought Kash would pull a stunt like this?

It wasn't long before the felon was let go.

Just as planned, the guy headed straight down the winding mountain road.

He slipped into the estate without a second glance.

Connor raised an eyebrow. "What if he actually escapes?"

Kash just shrugged. "Relax. We put a tracker under his skin. He could run to the ends of the world and we'd still find him."noveldrama

Once the man was out of sight, Kash motioned for his team. They moved in, storming the mansion.

Inside, there was only an old butler.

The sky was still dark—a perfect time for a raid.

Grant was nowhere to be seen, of course.

Kash immediately detained the butler so he couldn't warn Grant.

That bought them the time they needed to search for the underground cell.

The butler's hands shook. "What are you doing? You can't just barge in this is against the law!"

Kash didn't even blink. "We're chasing an escaped felon. He's here. Please cooperate."

"I need to call Mr. Grant-"

Kash ignored him completely.

The team spread out-over twenty people, but the place was massive. Six floors, more than a hundred rooms. Even with all their

manpower, searching every Corner would take forever.

They had no choice but to split up.

When Chloe walked in, something about the place felt familiar. Fuzzy memories danced at the edge of her mind.

Yesterday, Maddie had said the key was finding the basement's hidden entrance. But even Maddie had no clue where to start.

Connor caught Chloe staring off into space. He grabbed her arm gently but firmly. "Stick with me. Don't wander off."

He hadn't wanted Chloe to come along at all. But she'd insisted.

"Someone's been locked down there for who knows how long. They might not be in their right mind anymore. Maybe I'm the only one who can get through to them," she'd argued.

So now, Chloe trailed right behind Connor as they moved from room to room,

searching for any sign of a secret passage.

Nothing. Not even a hint.

They stepped into the elevator,

planning to check the upper floors, but before Connor could pressa button, the elevator lurched-cand started descending instead.

Connor's instincts screamed at him. He hit every button, but nothing happened.

The elevator stopped with a jolt.

The doors slid open on their own.

In that instant, both Chloe and Connor knew they'd found the underground cell.

A chill ran through Connor. Grant must have known they were coming.

No matter what they did, the elevator wouldn't budge. Suddenly, a strange mist hissed from vents inside the cabin.

Worried it might be toxic, they scrambled out.

Chloe whipped out her phone. "Call my brother. Now!"

Connor shook his head. "Don't bother. There's a signal jammer. We've been set up."

Chloe's eyes widened as it clicked.

"You think... Amelia?"

Connor's jaw tightened. "I don't know. But if Amelia was telling the truth, someone should be down here."
