Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 854

Everyone finally noticed the report Connor was holding.

The Shaw family members quickly gathered around to take a look, and their hearts sank even further.

Ruby, trying to keep her cool, said, "Let me see it." Isaac handed over the pregnancy report, and after reading it, Ruby felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.

Leah and Ann joined them, with Leah unable to hold back her tears. "She's pregnant and didn't say a word. What are we going to do now?"

Everyone was as jittery as cats on a hot tin roof.

Leah turned to Marian, desperation in her eyes. "Marian, you know your daughter better than anyone. Please, think about where she might be. We need your help."

Marian was just as worried as the rest, but how could she know where Claire might be? Her daughter had always been a bit of a wild card.

Ever since Claire started having episodes, Marian mostly went along with whatever she wanted to prevent any outbursts. Claire was beyond control, except maybe for Connor, who was the only one who could stand up to her.noveldrama

The whole family knew Claire's temperament, which is why they quietly supported Connor. As her mother, Marian understood why Claire had become this way.

Her guilt for what had happened between them made her turn a blind eye, never imagining it would lead to this disaster. "I honestly don't know where she is or who she's hanging out with, but I'm sure she'll reach out to us."

To be precise, she knew Claire would reach out to Connor. Claire's focus had always been Connor, and this was exactly what the Sartori family dreaded most. If Conno ended up in her hands, surviving would be a long shot.

Marian was at a loss for what to do next.

Two more days dragged by, and the silence was deafening. No one knew what Claire was planning, but the tension in the family estate was hitting its breaking point.

Jeffery had been searching every nook and cranny of Eldridge City but found nothing. Kash, however, had some intel-it was about Barrett.

A month ago, he had blended into their convoy, waiting for this very moment. At Mercy Hospital, a team had whisked Claire away by helicopter. They seemed like

international mercenaries, and their true backers were still a mystery. It felt like a powerful, shadowy force was orchestrating everything.

"It's been five days with no news. I can't believe that in this day and age, someone

can just vanish into thin air," someone muttered.

At that moment, Pax spoke up. "I have a way to make her come out of hiding." All eyes turned to Pax.

He'd been tormented these past few days, looking pale and worn out, his eyes red-rimmed from guilt. Guilt for visiting Claire that day and for not staying. Perhaps if he hadn't left, none of this would've happened.

"What do you suggest?" Marian asked anxiously.

"Even if she hasn't shown herself, she's definitely keeping tabs on us. Uncle, gather all the city's media, and let's send out a message. I'll stand on the rooftop of Eldridge Tower, and if she doesn't show up by noon, I'll jump."
