Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 38

David looked a little disappointed, but he genuinely appreciated Natasha's abilities.

Her voice was very malleable. While she might have lacked emotion in certain scenes, she could still deliver an impressive performance under proper guidance.

After clocking out of work, Natasha began to think about her options.

Her current job was stable, and the income was enough to cover her expenses, but she hardly had any money left for savings.noveldrama

Seeing that she had plenty of time after work, she figured she should also pick up a side hustle.

She already had some plans in mind, but starting it right away felt a little too reckless for her.

"You're the resident of 8-303, right? Here's your mail."

The security guard at Natasha's apartment complex had seen her enough times to be able to recognize her despite her wearing a mask.

"Do you know who left this for me?"

Natasha glanced at the letter and saw that it only had her address written on it.

"It was from a man in a suit. I can't really recall any other details. I'm getting old, you see. My memory's not what it used to be."

The security guard took off his hat and scratched the back of his head, revealing what was left of his almost balding head.

"It's alright. Thank you."

Natasha couldn't figure out who the sender might be, so she eagerly returned home to open the letter.

A bright red invitation card fell out of the letter. Natasha immediately assumed that it was a distasteful prank from Matthew.

She was about to toss the card into the trash when she noticed that Steven's signature was on it.

The invitation was actually for Hayden's birthday banquet. Natasha didn't really want to attend it, but she had no other choice as Steven himself had invited her.

Just the thought of seeing a certain duo at the banquet gave her a headache. "Forget it. I'm only attending for the sake of Mr. Foster Senior."

Natasha then retrieved her phone and plugged in her headphones. Jack's gentle voice gradually lulled her to sleep.

As the hours dwindled before the banquet the next day, Natasha was still at her closet, still undecided on her outfit.

She eventually picked a stylish black-and-white colored shirt paired with deep blue jeans.

She made it to the banquet just in time in high heels.

Natasha had already expected such a scene, but she still felt out of place even when she was standing in the corner. Everyone else was dressed in formal wear.

She mumbled to herself, "I really should've never come."

The sharp-eyed Julian spotted her in the corner and said, "Mr. Foster, Ms. Bradley's over there!"

But Zachary only glanced up at her and did not make a move.

He had gone back inside the hospital after storming out to take a photo, and his

social media account as Jack had been silent ever since.

Julian cursed out within his heart about how unpredictable Zachary was sometimes.

"Ms. Simon still looks just as beautiful as when we first met. Unlike me, whose face is full of wrinkles now!"

Hayden was chatting with some guests not far away when she spotted Natasha in a corner.

She was surprised by Natasha's appearance at the banquet as she had never invited Natasha.

Various questions flooded through her mind. "Sorry, I'd like to excuse myself for a moment."

Hayden walked toward Natasha, but she was quickly stopped by Nicole and Matthew, who were fast approaching her.

"Mom, this is the birthday gift I picked out for you. I hope you like it!"

Nicole's unexpected address of "Mom" had created an uncomfortable situation for Hayden, leaving her feeling compelled to accept Nicole's gift.

A small crowd began to gather around them.
