Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert)

Chapter 271

Does it ring a bell?

All of this was straight from Freya's own mouth.

Freya had lost it. Ignoring the blood still oozing from her wound, she shot up to her feet.

"Turn it off! Turn it off! It's all fake! Sylvia's framing me!"

"I'm willing to get a voice analysis done to prove whether these words were really said by Freya herself," Sylvia declared loudly.

"And I'm ready to vouch that Sylvia's telling the truth."noveldrama

The speaker was none other than Eloise, the one who had previously pressured Sylvia into buttering up Hilbert.

Eloise sneered as she glanced at Bella, who was trembling beside her, and stepped forward.

"I have evidence that Freya had inappropriate feelings towards Mr. Carmen. Everyone, please look at the screen."

The footage displayed was the very surveillance Freya had used to try to clear her name back in the day.

The video clearly showed Freya tripping over nothing in front of Hilbert, then gazing at him with a lovestruck expression.

This evidence had practically been handed to them by Freya herself.

After watching the evidence, everyone understood well enough and the pity in their eyes for Freya vanished completely.

Freya stood there in shock, her gaze darting between Sylvia and Eloise, finally understanding that these two had been putting on an act the entire time!

"You, you two..."

"Freya, you've messed up more than once in our studio, and frankly, we can't accommodate someone like you here," Eloise stated coldly.

In other words, Freya was fired.

Freya's strength left her, and she collapsed to the ground, but this time, no one reached out a hand to help her.

Sensing that things were taking a turn for the worse, Fiona glanced over at Warren, hoping he'd have some advice.

But Warren was fixated on the scarf around Sylvia's neck, oblivious to everything else.

Fiona's eyes grew cold and calculating. After a few seconds of thought, she stepped forward to change the topic.

"Sylvia, what you're saying doesn't prove you didn't steal the sapphire. The Carmen family entrusted you with a Kashmir blue sapphire

capable of closing a minet

now

it's gone from your hands. Shouldn't you explain yourself?"

At her words, Sylvia turned her attention to Fiona.

The warmth and harmony that once existed between them had vanished. They weren't even on nodding terms anymore.

Fiona seemed ready to tear her apart right there.

But Sylvia stood her ground, pointing at Hilbert. "Mrs. Fiona, the sapphire is with Mr. Carmen."

Hilbert froze, his lips pressed into a thin line, his hands balled into fists.

But Fiona didn't notice his unease, instead giving a cold laugh. "Sylvia, are you implying the Carmen family is crying wolf? What a joke."

"It does sound like a joke, but I have proof."

Sylvia pulled out her phone and played a recording from a dinner with Hilbert.

Hilbert had always known about her tough time with the Garcia family

and the her timid and weak

when alone. He was certain she

wouldn't dare act recklessly.

In the recording, he admitted to swapping the sapphire and using it to blackmail Sylvia into submission.

Sylvia waved her phone towards the people on stage. "Mrs. Fiona, anything else you'd like to ask?"

Fiona's lips twitched, and she cast a disappointed glance at Hilbert.

Just as everything seemed to be settling, Warren stepped forward.

He presented himself with the same gentle demeanor as always, exuding a convincing charm.

"Sylvia, my uncle loves to ramble

when he's had too much to drink. He tends to joke along with whatever's

being said. This recording clearly show you leading my uncle of when he was drunk. You can't expect him to think straight under those circumstances, can you?"

He finished with a soft smile, looking confidently at Sylvia...
