Chapter 35: Thought He Would Look Down on Her
Danica completely calmed down, but afterward, she became upset again. She tilted her head at Manuel, who was driving next to her with a bit of worry.
"Director Shaw" she called his attention and asked, "Will Theo be angry if I treat him like this today?"
Manuel's eyes flashed a trace of sadness when he took a glimpse at her.He sighed silently.
Then, he tried to ask her as if nothing had happened, "Do you still care so much about him?"
"Of course not!" she instantly denied.
"What I care about is whether he will cancel his investment in our drama because he is angry. If that happens, I will be in big trouble"
Manuel smiled after hearing her explanation. He was in a good mood at this moment.
"So you are worried about this?" He smiled once again.
"It's okay" he said.
"Theo is a businessman. He is very satisfied with this script and the production team.He will not give up the chance to make a blockbuster because of this."
Danica breathed out a sigh of relief.
"That's good to hear then," she replied.
If her bad attitude towards Theo caused the company to lose this investment opportunity, she would really be sorry for Manuel.
She did not want to be absent from the meeting. She was still shocked by the car accident that happened to her when Theo called her, so she could not help but retort back to him, even though he was one of her superiors.
When she calmed down, she suddenly realized that she was really impulsive and emotional to talk to Theo like that.
Manuel continued driving the car steadily on the road.
He turned to glance at her and jokingly asked, "What if he is really angry?"
"If he's really angry, then I will apologize to him" Danica replied without hesitation.
"Director Shaw, if he is really angry, I will pay for my recklessness and impulsiveness."
Danica's tone was sincere when she said those words.
Manuel could not help but laugh again. She could treat Theo so calmly and rationally.
There was only work and company benefits in her eyes.
There were no private feelings attached to it.
It was evident that she did not care about Theo at all.
Danica suddenly remembered what Manuel mentioned earlier.
"By the way, you just said that he was delighted with this script and plot.Am I right?" she asked, making sure if she heard it correctly.
"Yes,'' Manuel replied.
"After I finished explaining the PPT that you transferred to me, he was satisfied based on what I saw on the expression of his face.He was even stunned"
"It really wasn't easy"
After she said those words, she lowered her eyes.
"I thought he wouldn't be satisfied.I thought he would look down on me."
Danica knew better than anyone how picky and strict Theo was, especially when it came to working.
She knew it because she had witnessed his temper many times when he held meetings or called people in the study.
"Danica? Manuel called her name gently.
"I sent you abroad for a year of training. The reason why I did that was that I didn't want you to come back here to feel inferior in front of other people” he told her.
"I'm sorry” she apologized.
Manuel's words made Danica come back to her senses.
Theo had completely ignored her in the past. She always felt that she was inferior to him. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Although many people admired her talent, she was still not confident enough whenever she faced Theo.
"But Theo is very satisfied" Manuel repeated.
"Someone doesn't seem to be happy, though. It's Miss Venice Jones" he continued.
Danica's forehead creased in confusion.
"Venice?" she repeated the name he just mentioned.
"She also attended the meeting with Theo today" Manuel explained.
Danica pursed her lips for a moment.
"I know why she is not delighted, she said after the short silence. In reality, Venice was like the woman in the story that the Prince loved at first.Theo used to love her too before Danica came. However, in the story, the Prince's first love, who was like Venice in reality, died of being a villain.Because of that, Venice undoubtedly thought that Danica purposely wrote that ending of the story.
However, the truth was this ending resulted from her discussion with Manuel and Edmund, her scriptwriter teacher.
They had always thought that this kind of ending was the most compatible after carefully considering the previous ups and downs of the plot.
