Reconciliation
Demelza sat in the bed feeling bad about the text message that she just got. Without thinking twice, she grabbed her stuff and left. She hastily boarded a taxi and headed straight home with fear and worry in her heart.
Her heart raced as she got closer to home and the thoughts of her not being there when they needed her haunted her so much.
In less than an hour, she got home and rushed to go in but she was shocked with what her eyes met. She saw her dad and Harriet laughing so much which got her really confused.
‘Did they just pull a stunt to get me back home?’ she asked herself with a confused looking on her face.
Her face fell in disappointment as she turned to go out but was stopped by her father. “Wait, Mel,” Thorpes called her, preventing her from leaving.
She paused on the spot to hear the excuse her father had to give without turning to look at him as he spoke.
“We had to do that to bring you home, we were worried sick about you. I’m sorry I had to lie to you.” Thorpes explained to her but she still felt hurt that she worried over a lie
“You still shouldn’t have dad, I was so worried.” Demelza stressed as she didn’t appreciate the fact that he lied to her.
“I know, but I’m sorry, okay?” He apologized again.
Her heart melted at that instant because she realized that he only lied to her because he loved her so much and he obviously couldn’t stand not knowing where she was.
She turned and went to give him a warm hug and just then did it strike her mind that she had not apologized to Harriet.
She broke free from the hug and turned to Harriet who was watching them with a smile on her face.
“I’m sorry,” Demelza apologized with teary eyes.
“It’s okay, my love. I forgive you.” Harriet said with so much love and care. After saying that, she pecked Demelza and pulled her into a warm hug.
Demelza hugged her back happily, relieved that she had been forgiven. Thorpes joined the hug and it became a bear hug with all of them smiling and happy to be together again.
As they reconciled, Thorpes did not fail to ask Demelza where she was and Demelza lied that she lodged at a hotel to avoid her parents advising her about the risk of spending the night in a stranger’s house. They kept talking for a while as they obviously had a lot to talk about.

Adrian finally got back home and he felt so elated that Demelza was around. Meeting Demelza felt like a miracle because once again, he felt a bind he had not felt in a long time. Something about her attracted him and he could not still pinpoint what exactly it was.
It felt more like she was a magnet and all she did was attract him.
He walked to the bedroom happily with the snacks he had bought for her. He also bought chocolates too to make her feel better than she felt the previous night.
His eyes fell asleep he opened the door to the empty room. Demelza wasn’t there and he was sure she was not anywhere in the house else he would have seen her.
Disappointment was etched on his face and he sat on the floor feeling very bad. He knew she had left while he hoped that she was safe. With anger, he threw everything in his hand away.
He stared into space for a while before he decided to freshen up. He was so sweaty and he knew he definitely had to take his bath. He tried as much as possible to not think so hard about Demelza leaving and hoped thatshe was coming back soon enough.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
He stood up from the floor and walked to the bathroom but then he stopped abruptly. He walked back to the dinning room to pick his phone where he had dropped it as he got into the house.
He picked up the phone when he got there and immediately went the messaging app. He couldn’t help himself but send her a text. He wanted to just let her be but a part of him couldn’t ignore it.
Right after typing the text, he sent it to her and dropped the phone back in he dining table. After he did that, he walked back to the room to take his bath with full hope that she would have responded by the time he was done having a shower.

Demelza’s sleep was interrupted by a buzz from her phone. She had decided to nap a bit after she talked with her father and stepmum. With lazy sleepy eyes, she used her hand to try and locate the phone without opening her eyes.
She hissed loudly when she failed to find it. She opened her eyes feeling so annoyed that her sleep was interrupted. ‘it better be an important notification.’ she muttered to herself as she picked the phone.
She put the phone to her face to unlock it and she was slightly annoyed it was Adrian. She had hoped to see Nathan’s name when she saw it was a text.
With mixed feelings, she opened the text to read and she couldn’t help but smile as she read it. ‘you looked so cute when you slept that I could not afford to wake you up but now I slightly regret that. I denied myself the chance to see your pretty eyes. I hope to see it soon. XOXO.’
At this point, Demelza’s face was already pink from blushing hard. She couldn’t remember when last someone was able to make her feel butterflies in her belly.
She laid down facing the wall contemplating if she should reoly or not. While her thoughts roamed, she typed and clean severally lacking the right words to use.
At some point, she decided not to text back but rather wait and see if he was going to text again. Just as she waited, her phone buzzed and her face lit up with excitement.
