Chapter 1646
The next moment, a quick voice message pinged into the chat.
"Jackson: Fiona, I'll swing by after school to grab dinner with you."
Fiona shot back a bright "sure" and tucked her phone away like it was a prized treasure. She was thrilled her brother hadn't married Zoe. As class kicked off, for once, Fiona wasn't dozing off. Instead, she was all focus, scribbling notes with an air of determination.
Truth be told, she was actually sketching a map of the U.S., daydreaming about the smoothest routes for her imaginary road trip.
"Take a lesson from Ms. Fiona, everyone," the teacher chimed in unexpectedly. "Look at her putting in the work despite her grades. Some of you have better grades but can't be bothered to try. You're coasting on your family's support now, but what happens when you're on your own?"
This unexpected praise threw Fiona for a loop. She blinked and casually flipped open her book, where important bits were highlighted and filled with various problem-solving tactics-more detailed than the teacher's own notes.
Getting such praise was new for Fiona, and it left her a bit flustered, though she didn't linger on it.
"Teacher, you might need new glasses. Fiona hasn't even turned to the right page," a student quipped.
"Yeah, teacher, those compliments feel a bit forced," another chimed in.noveldrama
Class 19 was infamous for its underperformers, and the students were known for their cheeky attitudes. They weren't shy about challenging a teacher, with smirks plastered on their faces.
But today, they had met their match-the chemistry teacher, known for his no- nonsense approach.
He stepped down from the podium, heading to Fiona's desk, and picked up her book. It was brimming with chemical equations, even problems they hadn't covered yet, all annotated meticulously. Fiona's notes were far more detailed than his lesson plans.
The chemistry teacher couldn't
believe his eyes. Could this really be Fiona's book? Her understanding seemed deeper than even the best of Class A, yet here was Fiona, from Class 19, nailing it.
Was a so-called underachiever from Class 19 actually outdoing the top students?
Especially considering Fiona was usually at the bottom of the class rankings. How in the world could she solve these tough problems?
"Ms. Fiona, where did you get this book?" the chemistry teacher asked, pointing to the detailed notes." don't remember teaching you these formulas. How on earth did you figure them out?"
Fiona glanced up, leaning back with a chilled-out vibe, her eyelids lifting lazily. "Is
it really that tough?"
What a bold statement! Such cool confidence!
The chemistry teacher squinted, not
grting the possibility of song. Bey
grasping the material, but he found it
hard to believe it was Fiona
If someone from Class A had cracked it, it would've been a standout moment.
Struggling with it would've been normal.
Chemistry was tougher than most subjects, after all.
A student eager to stir the pot stepped up to take a closer look. His jaw practically
hit the floor.
"No way, Fiona, you didn't write this. If you did, I'll eat my hat."
The detailed notes in the book left everyone wide-eyed.
What do you think?
