Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1666

These folks are like dogs with a bone, just won't quit until they hit a brick wall. Fiona got that better than anyone, but she had bigger fish to fry.

"So, you're saying the kid's Allen's? Where's your proof? You can make all the claims you want, but without solid evidence, your words won't stand a chance in court."

"We've got a copy of the hospital's report!"

Fiona quickly pieced it all together and shot a glance at the hospital director. In front of him lay a bunch of reports, clearly stating that Erica had visited the hospital two months back, and the fluid they collected was a match with Allen's.

This was the linchpin Erica's family was hanging onto, insisting Allen was the father. What a crafty move.

Even Fiona had to give them props for their cleverness. This kind of plotting was way beyond someone like Zoe, who was all style and no substance—a pretty face with no smarts to back it up. The Larkin family from Maple Grove definitely had some brains.

But this also gave Fiona a chance to dig up some dirt on her opponents. With a sly grin, she pointed to the part of the report about Allen's fluid. She chuckled, "Tough luck for you, but a few months back, Allen was poisoned by his manager, and I treated him. I remember his test results like it was yesterday, and this report here? It doesn't match. Even the tiniest difference in numbers means a lot in the medical world."

Their laughter died instantly. They didn't see that coming-Fiona having an ace up her sleeve made them squirm inside.

The info had come from someone who swore it was foolproof. They snapped

back, "Now that you've got the report, you can twist it however you like. You're just trying to get Allen off the hook."

Fiona brushed off Erica's family's

jabs and quietly pulled out a notebook, clicking her pen as she scribbled. She turned to Erica, "Miss Smith remember our first meeting? I told you something back then. Do you recall?"

"I said, at our age, we should be finishing school and making something of ourselves."

"So what?"

"When I examined you, you mentioned wanting to be a teacher, to inspire and educate, not repeat past mistakes. But look at what you're wrapped up in now."noveldrama

Erica's face went ghostly pale as she slumped back into her chair, the light in her eyes snuffed out. That line hit her like a ton of bricks.

Fiona's voice carried on, like a relentless echo: "If you can't prove this child's. Allen's, I have no problem taking this to court. A forensic test will sort it out with a paternity test. At that point, it won't matter whose child it is, as long as it's not Allen's. I hope you can still smile then, knowing you used your own daughter in such a stunt. You'd be the talk of the town, and not in a good way."

With that, Fiona went quiet. Sometimes, the best way to win is by aiming for the heart.

It was clear Erica's family didn't

want things to blow up. It wouldn't do them any favors, and they'd be the talk of the family gatherings for all the wrong reasons, not to mention the scandal would hang over their heads for generations. Cóntent

In this game of cat and mouse, Fiona came out on top.

The hospital director could have gone all out, but he had to keep the hospital's reputation intact. Any court ruling would affect them. But Fiona was different; she could take the leap.
