Chapter 778 Theodore's Relentless Pursuit

Phoebe stared at the man on the screen and asked softly, "Mr. Reynolds, have you ever thought about having your own children in the future?"

"I have," Theodore gazed quietly at the camera, as if he were looking directly at Phoebe. "But with whom? You won't even let me touch you."

Phoebe's cheeks flushed.

She shouldn't have asked that question.

"Theodore!" she said, her voice filled with shame and anger, "Can you stop talking nonsense? You're going to get married someday. How do you think your future wife will feel knowing you takingother's kids as your godchildren before even getting married?"

"My future wife is you. How would you feel?" Theodore seemed to enjoy teasing Phoebe, loving to see her blush.

Theodore's attitude towards Phoebe was becoming increasingly reckless, and if this continued, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"If you don't have anything important to say, I'm hanging up." Phoebe leaned against the stair railing, her finger moving towards the hang-up button, but Theodore's voice came through, leaving no room for refusal, "Give me the contact information for the triplets' parents."

Phoebe hung up the video call.

She leaned on the railing, wishing she could punch and kick Theodore. From

downstairs, Hubert's voice called out, "Mom, are you angry?"

Phoebe quickly wiped the grimace off her face and forced a gentle smile, "Mom's not angry. Did I scare you, Hubert?"

Seeing her smile, Hubert turned and ran, "Mom, your smile is scary."

Phoebe watched Hubert's retreating back, not knowing what to say. She rubbed her stiff cheeks, cursing Theodore a thousand times in her heart.

Why take godchildren? Why not just get married and have his own kids? What was Theodore thinking?

Hubert ran a bit further, and seeing that Phoebe wasn't following, he patted his chest. Just as he turned around, he bumped into someone.

The next second, his little face was pinched.

"Hubert, have you gained weight again? I can't even lift you," Cindy pretended to struggle.

Hubert giggled and snuggled into her arms, "Godmother, I'm not fat. Grandma says chubby kids are cute."

"Oh, then can you tell me where your mommy is?" Cindy asked with a smile.

Hubert pointed to the third-floor staircase and whispered to Cindy, "I saw Mom getting angry. She looked like a villain."

Cindy couldn't help but laugh and patted his little butt, "If she hears that, she'll spank you."

Cindy put him down, "Go play, and be careful going downstairs."

Hubert rubbed his butt and ran off. Cindy walked up to the third floor and saw Phoebe sitting on the steps, "Why are you hiding here?"

Phoebe lifted her head from her arms and, seeing Cindy, her eyes lit up, "Come chat with me. I have a headache."

"What happened?"

Phoebe looked frustrated, "Theodore insists on taking Hubert, Boris, and Noomi as his godchildren. He just video-called me asking for their parents' contact information. What is he up to?"

Cindy saw her distress and put a hand on her shoulder, "Don't be upset. How about we find that guy from room 8888?"

"Why would we do that?" Phoebe was puzzled.

"To have him refuse Theodore, of course."

"And then he'll turn around and fight me for Hubert, Boris, and Noomi. Am I crazy?" Phoebe couldn't help but roll her eyes, "Can you give me a better suggestion?"noveldrama

"Uh..." Cindy scratched her head, "Mr. Reynolds really knows how to create problems. When did he meet Hubert, Boris, and Noomi and decide he wanted them as his godchildren?"

Phoebe tugged at her hair in frustration, "Last time, you were holding Boris and walked past him. After that, he brought his cat to Lakeview Estates and coincidentally met Hubert and Noomi."

"Mr. Reynolds is really kind-hearted," Cindy sighed, "Why don't you just tell him their parents don't want to give him their contact information? I doubt he'd force it."

Phoebe said, "For now, that's the only way to stall."

Cindy patted her shoulder, "Don't worry. We'll figure something out."

She worried that Theodore's persistence was because he had already guessed that Hubert, Boris, and Noomi were closely related to her and was insisting on acknowledging them as a test.

She had thought about directly telling him that Hubert, Boris, and Noomi were her children. Maybe then, in his anger, he would stop bothering them.

But Phoebe always held onto a sliver of hope that she could muddle through.

"Why are you back today? Is your nose okay?" Phoebe finally noticed that Cindy's nose seemed more swollen than it did in last night's video.

"It's fine," Cindy looked a bit uncomfortable, "There was a sandstorm last night that damaged the set. We need a couple of days to fix it, so I got two days off."

"Then take a good rest these two days. Don't cook for yourself. Come over here to eat.

I'll have my mom make something delicious for you," Phoebe said.

"That would be too much trouble," Cindy pretended to be polite.

"What's the trouble? My mom treats you like her own daughter. If she knew you were being so polite, she'd be upset."

Phoebe grabbed the stair railing to stand up and pulled Cindy up from the floor, "Come on, let's go downstairs and play with Hubert, Boris, and Noomi."

In a high-end hotel abroad, Edward stood in front of a large floor-to-ceiling window, with his assistant standing behind him, "Mr. Vanderbilt, there's news from back home." Edward's expression was calm and cold as he looked at the exotic skyscrapers outside, "Speak."

The assistant spoke nervously, "Last night, Ms. Ziegler and Theodore spent the night at a family villa in the eco-park. She left hurriedly with the children around four in the morning. It seems they had a disagreement."

Edward's face darkened, "I understand. Leave."

The assistant didn't dare linger and quickly left. Just as he stepped out of the room, he heard the sound of something heavy shattering behind him.

He didn't dare look back and closed the door.

Edward stood amidst the broken pieces, his eyes brewing a storm more terrifying than yesterday's sandstorm.

"Phoebe, if you treat my feelings like this, I will never let you get back together with him. Never!"

After a long time, he finally calmed down and took out his phone to make a call, "How's the drone show rehearsal going?"

"Mr. Vanderbilt, the show is quite challenging, but we're working overtime to rehearse. The time you mentioned will definitely be fine."

"I'm returning home tomorrow. I want to propose the night after. You have two days to rehearse," Edward said, giving no room for negotiation before hanging up.
