Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn)

Chapter 446

Joshua's eyes were heavy with fatigue as he shook his head.

"Go upstairs and get some rest," Allison said, her voice gentle.

"Okay," Joshua replied quietly.

From outside, voices echoed-loud and lively. Allison glanced over and spotted the rescue team arriving.

Willow, sleepy and tousle-haired, wandered down the stairs, rubbing her eyes. "What's all that noise?"noveldrama

Allison turned back to her. "The rescue team just got here."

Willow walked over, but stopped short when she noticed the man standing next to Allison. "Who's this?"

Allison paused for a second, then explained, "He's the guy who called last night. His last name's Jiang."

"Oh! So you're that Mr. Jiang." Willow's tone was playful, and she shot Allison a look full of curiosity and a hint of teasing.

Just then, John-the assistant who'd been giving them space-walked over and greeted Allison, "Good morning, Ms. Allison."

Allison smiled back. "Good morning, Mr. Lin. Thanks for everything."

She turned to Willow. "This is Mr. Lin, a friend of Mr. Fisher's."

Willow welcomed them both, "Mr. Fisher, Mr. Lin, come inside! Don't just stand out there."

She added, "Dream, they've been traveling all night and haven't slept. Can we let them rest upstairs for a bit?"

"No problem, I'll handle it. There's a spare room upstairs with a bed. Give me a few minutes to tidy up," Willow replied.

"Thank you," Allison said.

"No need to thank me!"

John stepped forward and handed Allison a box. "Ms. Allison, here's a new phone for you."

Allison looked up at Joshua, who just stayed quiet.

John quickly explained, "We bought it when we got to downtown Havenbrook. Mr. Fisher picked it out for you."

He was relieved he'd caught himself before accidentally calling Joshua "boss." Clearly, Allison hadn't told her friends he was the CEO's

assistant-probably to keep things simple, so they wouldn't feel awkward.

Allison took the phone. "Thank you."

They'd arrived in Havenbrook at three-thirty in the morning, way after every phone shop had closed. But for Joshua, getting a phone was no big deal-one call, and someone delivered it right to their door.

He'd learned yesterday afternoon that her phone had gotten waterlogged, and even after driving all night without sleep, he'd still remembered to get her a new

one.

A warm feeling bloomed in Allison's chest, her eyes stinging a bit.

She turned to Joshua. "You haven't eaten yet, right? Let me make you some noodles. Eat first, then rest."

Joshua looked at her, his eyes soft. "Okay."

Willow quickly jumped in, "Allison, you really don't have to cook. Let me do it."

Allison shot Willow a small, meaningful smile, her eyes shining with amusement. "It's fine, I want to."

Willow caught the look instantly and grinned, her expression saying, I get it, say no more. "Alright, you cook, I'll light the stove. You probably don't know how to use a wood-burning one anyway."

"Deal."

Soon, Allison brought out two steaming bowls of tomato and egg noodles. "Come eat while it's hot."

John glanced nervously at Joshua.

Was it really okay for him to eat the noodles personally cooked by the boss's

wife? What if he got fired for this?

In his heart: So touched, but too afraid to touch.

Joshua shot him a sidelong look, as if he could read his mind. "Go ahead and eat."

Only with Joshua's okay did John dare to sit down. He grabbed his chopsticks and smiled at Allison. "Thank you, Ms. Allison."

Joshua sat too, but before digging in, he handed his chopsticks to Allison. "Allie, you haven't had breakfast either. You go first."

Willow stood nearby, watching with a huge, knowing grin-like a proud older sister who'd just witnessed something adorable.
