Chapter 896 The Most Beginning Approach
Chapter 896 The Most Beginning Approach
Klara's purpose had been achieved, but Klara was conflicted about one thing. It was that she wanted
Wendy to go out on vacation but didn't want her to leave Winnie and Brian a chance.
"I know Rufus is sick, but I'm ...... a mess right now."
Wendy didn't know what to say. The last time they met, she said she had good terms with Brian, but
now she had not visited Brian's father since he was sick.
Now she found herself in a position like being surrounded by a regiment of enemies, with no way out
no matter which direction she went.
The only thing that she was looking forward to was Penny's plan. This plan was a last ditch effort for
her.
"What's wrong? You haven't visited Rufus by now?"
Klara had guessed it a long time ago, but she never revealed Wendy.
Klara asked the question and began to analyze it for Wendy without waiting for Wendy to answer.
"Wendy, in any case I think you should take this opportunity to visit Rufus. You're there to see a patient,
so just offer your condolences as a friend, and no one is going to throw you out."
Wendy thought it made sense.
"You are right, I should visit him sometime."
"Yeah, you should have done that a long time ago. I'll go with you tonight when I am free."
Klara suddenly wanted to visit Rufus too, not for Brian but for the possibilities at work.
"That would be great, let's go tonight."
With Klara's company, Wendy had more guts. They could face it together if they were to scolded.
"Wendy, your relationship with Mr. Bennet is still shaky, isn't it?"
Klara asked politely.
"Yes. I don't know what to do."
Wendy was still too embarrassed to respond positively to the topic. She and Brian hadn't seen each
other for a long time, so how could they have a relationship?
But if she did not admit it, Klara would laugh at her.
"Do you remember the approach I taught you in the beginning?"
Klara once again helped out with the idea, although she didn't want to be involved, she didn't want
Winnie to be the winner in the end.
"What?"
Wendy pondered for a moment.
"Yes, but that approach can't work, can’t it? Penny has the cancer now, and if I say I am seriously ill,
won't that be suspicious? It can't be such a coincidence that we both have cancer."
Wendy felt that it was no longer feasible. Penny was solidly cancerous, and she would be suspected by
Winnie if she said she had cancer too.
"Do you have to curse yourself with cancer? Can't you be any other disease? Our purpose is to get Mr.
Bennet back not to get us killed for love."
On the surface, she helped Wendy think of a solution, but in her heart, she had already laughed at
Wendy countless times. Klara didn't understand why Wendy still insisted.
She was too stupid to realize that she could not get Brian back.
"What other disease?"
"I'll think about it."
Wendy wondered what other illness could make Brian shower compassion on her, and if mental
disorders could stir his compassion.
In the evening, Brian and Winnie came to the hospital to deliver food to Rufus, and since the next day
was weekend, both children and Vanessa came along with them.
"Grandpa, when are you going to be able to come home? You are better now."
Megan wanted her grandfather to go home sooner.
"I will have to recuperate, and then I can be discharged when I get well."
" Luke, Megan, are you being naughty these days?"
Felix was recovering well and chatting with the two children while eating. His face and mental condition
were also much better.
"No, we're very obedient."
Megan answered Grandpa's question first, followed by Luke.
"The family is busy during the time Grandpa is at the hospital. We wouldn't be good kids if we were
messing around."
"Grandpa, get well soon and go home, the house seems to be missing something without you."
Luke paused at this point, and then spoke quietly close to Rufus' ear.
"Mom and Aunt Vanessa are at home, and we'll be reunited as a family if you come home early."
Luke gave a rare smile. That was Luke’s true happiness.
He couldn't say things like that in front of his mom, and with the lesson he'd learned last time, he'd just
have to keep a low profile.
"Ok, I will get well soon."
Rufus answered Luke, but his heart was sore.
The only thing he had always wanted was to be reunited as a family, to be able to live with his mom
and dad. Such a wish had never been diminished, and it was an unfair treatment for the children.
Every time he thought about it, Rufus blamed himself for not taking care of things properly in the first
place.
"Rufus, you are recovering nicely this week, so you should be able to come home soon, right?"
Vanessa also spoke up.
The hospital had a kind of pressure. Vanessa hated it the most and didn't want anyone to stay here.
"Yes, it should be soon. When I'm home, you'll be staying on the suburbs, you said you'd make soup for
me."
Rufus was afraid that he went home, the two sisters would move out.
This was a good opportunity now for them to adjust their relationship properly. The relationship
between Brian and Winnie needed to be adjusted, and Vanessa's many disappointments in Brian
needed time.
"Making soup is a trivial, but your health is a big deal."
Vanessa euphemistically replied that even if she didn't live in the suburbs, she would still have time to
make soup for Rufus. It was not her home, not her sister's home.
Sooner or later, they were going back to their home.
"Don't worry, I am fine. You just need to take care of the kids, take care of ......"
Just as Rufus was halfway through his words, the door to the ward was pushed open, followed by
Wendy and Klara walking in.
Everyone was surprised to see the two people who came in, however these two were nervous to see
so many people in the ward.
Wendy and Klara didn't expect to meet Brian, and most importantly, Winnie was also there, along with
those two kids who were in the way.
"What brings you guys here?"
Brian said in cold voice and his brows furrowed, not in a welcoming manner.
"We came to visit Rufus, we know he is sick."
Wendy answered nervously, afraid of being kicked out by Brian.
"Mr. Bennet, we just came over to see Rufus."
Klara also opened her mouth, she was calmer than Wendy, but her eyes were fluttering, always shifting
towards Winnie.
Winnie had met the people she hated the most, but she had been silent. She wanted to kick them out,
but she didn't have the qualifications.
They had come over to see Rufus, so had she, so they had the same purpose.
"You guys ......"
Just as Brian was about to speak coldly, Rufus stopped Brian.
"Thank you for coming to see me."
Rufus spoke politely. He knew that Brian didn't welcome these two people, but this was the ward, since
they were here to see him, there was no reason to kick them out.
Only after hearing Rufus' thankful voice did Wendy and Klara feel relieved and walk over to Rufus.
They first handed flowers and fruit to Paul, and then spoke attentively.
"Rufus, I'm sorry it took so long to come over to see you. Seeing you recovering so well, I'm not worried
anymore."
Wendy was taking her chances.
"Yes, make sure you get well and keep yourself healthy."
Klara conformed, but her attention was still on Winnie and Brian behind her. Although she didn't have
eyes behind her head, her ears were always perked up and listening.
"Thanks, I'm fine. You all have jobs, you're all busy, so it is understandable that you can’t come over.
Young people are supposed to focus on careers."
Rufus actually didn't want to see them. Knowing what they had done to Winnie, knowing that Winnie
was psychologically uncomfortable seeing them, but still, there was no point in kicking them out.
"I should come and see you, for you have been good to us. When Director Chambers wasn't here, I
was most grateful for your help and care when I worked in the Bennet Group." This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Now that you are sick, I should show my concern."
Hearing Klara's words, Winnie felt unpleasant, as if Klara was blaming her.
From the moment Klara and Wendy came in, she noticed how unfriendly Klara was towards her, her
eyes glancing at her every now and then with hatred.
It seemed that even though she had been driven away by Brian, she hadn't let go of it all. The fact that
Wendy and Klara came together proved that neither of them ever gave up.
She did not want to listen to Klara anymore, so Winnie came to Brian and spoke in a whisper.
"We gotta go."
Winnie finished speaking and left with the two children and Vanessa.
Although Brian stayed in the ward, he stood far away and didn't say a word.
Since his father would not allow him to kick anyone out, there was no need for him to get involved in
their conversation.
The two talked endless, which made Rufus annoyed.
"I'm really glad that you guys came to see me, but no need to talk about the past. Besides, you guys
don't need to apologize to me for what happened before, there was no wrongdoing."
Rufus couldn't bear to hear these two apologize for things that did not related to him, so he spoke up to
stop them.
