His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0082

Amara unconsciously groaned at the information. "Thanks. I'll send the necklace over once I've got it."

With that, she ended the call. However, unlike when she had picked the phone up, she now had another problem to worry about.

The person was In London, it was only reason that her grandfather would try and make them meet up.

Just thinking about meeting up with a stranger who had the potential of being her future husband had Amara frowning.

She didn't want that.

Glancing at her phone, she grabbed it once more and turned it off without second thoughts.

If her grandfather wanted to pull a fast one on her, then he'd have to find a way to contact her first.

She'd give him no opportunity.

With that, Amara grabbed the files on her table, opened one and got down to work.

Amara kept her phone off throughout the entire weekend. When she turned it on Monday morning, her calling history was bombarded with missed calls from her grandfather. She couldn't help but smile.

For once in life, she had acted faster than her grandfather.

Making a mental note to call him back when she got home, Amara proceeded to check her messages. Most of them weren't important, so she ideally scrolled through, until she came upon Melanie's message.

[Dating sites nowadays are overrated. So, rather than sending my precious and irreplaceable friend to a place filled with trashy men, I have decided to bring the good men to my friend.]

The message read and below were several pictures of men. Stunning and handsome men.

"Damn, Mel," Amara muttered, chuckling as she briefly looked through the pictures. "You've got quite a collection."Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

The guys were all handsome, with good physiques and a charming smile. It was safe to say they were all her types, but none of them could hold a candle to Tobias.

Amara exited the message as soon as the thought popped into her head. She couldn't be thinking of him. He didn't deserve that.

"Focus, Amara," She told herself, turning the phone off and leaving to get ready for work.

When she arrived at work, Duncan approached her and for the first time in a long while, he did not look happy.

"Good morning Ms." He greeted.

"Morning, Duncan. Is something wrong?"

"Not exactly, but, Early this morning, the shareholders called for a meeting."

Amara glanced his way, raising a brow. "A meeting? For what?"

"The allocated funds Synergy is getting from the deal with Madam Sinclair. They're not happy with the decided amount?" "Not happy?" Amara questioned in confusion.

Who the hell wouldn't be happy with five hundred and eighty million dollars of profit closed on a deal?

"Are they insane? Where are they?"

"Conference room number 4."

Amara made a bee line for said room, barging in during the heat of the meeting.

"An executive meeting was called without my approval, since when does that happen?"

Her appearance and question silenced whatever discussion was happening in the room.

"We apologize for calling an unauthorized meeting, Ms. Miller, but you see A man, who was seated at the last seat of the table stood up. "Since we have the power to vetoyour decision, we called this meeting and we would like to renegotiate the amount of money Synergy is going to receive from the

deal."

"Renegotiate the amount. Isn't half a billion enough?"

"Synergy would go under if we only secured half a billion during every business deal." Another executive spoke up holding a challenging gaze in Amara's direction.

She turned to face him, mirroring his gaze. "Synergy would go under if we try to leech our every investor. Where is your sense of business?"

"And where is your sense of

leadership?" He shot back. "Do you think Synergy would be able to run on petty millions? Your going to lead the company to doom if you continue like this."

"Petty millions? If you see it that way, then that's greed speaking."

"That's wisdom speaking. And here's another word of wisdom; running the company this way when the boss is not around would lead to destruction,"

Amara knew where this was going. She knew what every single executive in this room, especially Edward Jones, was thinking. But nonetheless, decided to humor their stupidity. "So, what do you suggest?"

"Step down from the position of Managing Director and give it to someone more capable. If you refuse, then by the power of we executives, you shall be stripped of the position, Amara Miller.
