Chapter 1090: Can I Go Home Now?
Dr. Wood quickly spoke up, "No, no, it's good news. However, I need to discuss it with you first before
making a decision."
After Dr. Wood finished speaking, he paused for a moment, "Anika went out with Mr. Duncan this
morning and should be back in the afternoon. Mr. Lawrence is also coming in the afternoon. I'll be in
my office waiting for you."
Zane agreed, "Alright, I'll come in the afternoon."
After the conversation with Dr. Wood, Zane thought for a moment and decided to call Iris.
When the call went through, several rings passed before someone picked up. However, it wasn't Iris; it
was Anika.
"Brother, it's me."
Hearing Anika's voice, Zane asked, "Where's Iris?"
"He's in the restroom. Do you need him for something? Should I get him for you?" Anika felt that Zane
calling for Iris must be important, so the words came out naturally.
After hearing Anika's words, Zane remained silent for a few seconds, "No need."
"Alright, I'll have him call you when he comes out."
Zane responded, "Where are you guys right now?"
"We're having lunch at a farmhouse in the suburbs. Is everything okay?" Anika asked.
"No issues. I'm going to South Hospital in the afternoon."
Anika agreed, "We're planning to head back in the afternoon as well."
Zane nodded, "Enjoy your lunch. See you in the afternoon."
After ending the call, Zane set his phone aside and went upstairs. When Zane went up, Yanis was still
asleep. He hesitated for a moment before approaching her and gently waking her up.
When Yanis opened her eyes, she closed them again and nestled into Zane's embrace. "Let me sleep
a bit more. I'm still a bit tired."
"You're not planning on sleeping at night?" Zane held her in his arms. "I'm going to South Hospital later.
Do you want to come with me?"
Yanis took a few seconds before responding, "Sure."
Zane lifted her out of bed and carried her to the bathroom. Inside, he placed her on the countertop,
turned on the cold water, rinsed a towel, and handed it to Yanis.
Yanis took the towel and covered her face with it. "Zane."
"Yeah?"
"I've been feeling a bit strange lately."
Because her voice was muffled by the towel, Yanis sounded a bit muffled.
Zane lifted the towel to look at her and then placed it back on her face. "How so?"
"I keep wanting to sleep. I'm fully awake, but I just can't open my eyes."
Removing the towel once again, Yanis handed it to Zane and continued, "Don't you think that's odd?"
Zane took the towel and washed it once more before handing it back to her. "Pregnancy makes you
sleepy. It's not unusual."
Yanis sighed, "Maybe you're right."
After several rounds of placing the towel on her face, Yanis finally fully woke up.
"Why the sudden visit to South Hospital? Is something wrong with Anika? Iris mentioned a couple of
days ago that Anika's condition was mostly fine," Yanis asked while sitting on the countertop, her hands
wrapped around Zane's neck.
Zane supported her. "Dr. Wood called. He said he wanted to discuss something."
Yanis responded with an "Oh." She looked at Zane and inquired, "Can you put me down?"
Zane lifted her and guided her outside. "Do you want something to eat?"
Shaking her head, Yanis replied, "Not very hungry."
Zane led her downstairs and handed her a glass of warm water. "How about joining Iris and the others
for dinner tonight? You won't have to come back."
Yanis shook her head again. "I don't really feel like eating."
Zane brought her downstairs and asked, "Shall we eat as much as you did at lunch?"
Yanis gave him a puzzled look.
Zane glanced at her, then said, "Alright, maybe I should say you can eat as much as you did at lunch."
Yanis chuckled and playfully kissed him. "Deal."
In the afternoon, around three o'clock, Zane took Yanis with him to South Hospital.
They arrived a little after four o'clock.
Anika and Iris had just returned from outside, so the four of them met at the entrance.
"Hey, sis, why do you seem thinner than before? Is my brother not feeding you well? Is he starving
you?" Anika teased.
Hearing Anika's words, Yanis looked down at herself and asked, "Am I thinner?"
Anika nodded and turned to Iris. "Doesn't she look a bit thinner?"
Iris looked at Yanis's face and replied, "Yeah, she does seem a bit thinner."
After speaking, Iris turned to Zane and said, "Mr. Lawrence, you're not mistreating Yanis, are you?"
Zane squinted his eyes and replied, "I'll make her eat more when we get home."
Yanis sat on the countertop, her hands still wrapped around Zane's neck. "Dr. Wood called me in. He
wants to discuss something."
Zane helped her down, then led her out of the room. "Do you want something to eat?"
Yanis shook her head. "Not really hungry."
As they walked downstairs, Zane handed her a glass of warm water. "How about having dinner with Iris
and the others tonight? No need to come back."
Yanis shook her head again. "I don't feel like eating much."
Zane led her downstairs and asked, "Do you want to eat as much as you did at lunch?"
Yanis looked at him in confusion.
Zane glanced at her and then said, "Actually, I mean you can eat as much as you did at lunch."
Yanis laughed and gave him a playful kiss. "Alright, deal."
In the afternoon, around three o'clock, Zane took Yanis to South Hospital.
They arrived a little after four o'clock.

Zane squinted his eyes and replied, "I'll make her eat more when we get home."
"Is that what this is about?" Anika chuckled. "She's been eating fine, don't worry."
Zane smiled. "Good to know."
After chatting for a bit, they all headed to Dr. Wood's office.
Seeing the four of them enter, Dr. Wood asked
, "Did you arrange to meet?"
"We ran into each other at the entrance," Anika replied. She looked at Dr. Wood and asked, "Did you
call my brother here for something?"
Dr. Wood smiled and took a medical record from a drawer, handing it to Anika. "These are the details of
your recent treatment. Take a look."
Being a medical professional herself, Anika was able to understand most of the technical terms on the
document. Compared to the previous hard-to-read data, this set of information was something she had
been longing for.
Every piece of data was within the normal range.
In other words, she was now mostly healthy.
After a while, Anika looked up and asked, "Dr. Wood, does this mean... I can go home?"
Dr. Wood nodded and then turned his gaze to Zane. "Mr. Lawrence, based on Anika's current
condition, there's no need for her to stay here anymore. She still needs to take her medication, but not
every day. Three times a week should suffice. And I'd like to see her for a checkup once every three
months. There shouldn't be any major issues."
Dr. Wood paused for a moment and added, "Mr. Duncan played a significant role in this. Without his
assistance, I might not have achieved these results."
Iris chuckled and said, "Still, we should thank Dr. Wood for his dedication."
Dr. Wood smiled and said, "Anika's recovery is my greatest affirmation."
Dr. Wood went on to give some instructions and advised Anika to stay positive and not dwell on
uncertainties. He emphasized the importance of enjoying the present and making the most of it. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Anika nodded and said, "I understand. Thank you, Dr. Wood."
Since Dr. Wood had already prepared Anika's discharge papers, after their discussion, Anika left South
Hospital with Zane.
