Chapter 42: Chapter 42 What to Do If You Don’t Want a Divorce
Looking at the message Su Ye sent, Xiao Jinsheng felt a bit puzzled.
She glanced at the time—it was almost 1 a.m. now.
186GoodBroWouldn’tLetMeTouchHisAbs: I’m outside your door.
Xiao Jinsheng: Bro, don’t mess around. You’re not trying to scare me like a ghost in the middle of the night, are you?
186GoodBroWouldn’tLetMeTouchHisAbs: If I wanted to scare you, I’d climb in through the window. Why would I bother texting you?
Curious about what Su Ye was up to being so sneaky late at night, Xiao Jinsheng put on her shoes and went to open the door.
The hallway lights weren’t on. With the light from her bedroom, Xiao Jinsheng could see Su Ye in a bathrobe, his belt loosely tied.
"What are you up to?" Xiao Jinsheng hurriedly averted her gaze from the hem of his robe that threatened to reveal more with his every move.
"Playing Buddha."
Su Ye chuckled lightly, grabbed her wrist, and slid her hand inside his robe. Leaning down to whisper in her ear, he said, "Just proving I’m not stingy."
"You, you—" Xiao Jinsheng’s heart raced, mixed with a flustered panic. In an impulsive move, she grabbed Su Ye’s belt and dragged him into the room.
Peeking outside the hallway, she confirmed that no one else had been disturbed by the commotion, then carefully closed the door.
"You’re scared of everything normally, and now you’re being cautious even at home?" Su Ye smirked, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her against him.
Pressed close together, her hand resting on his abs was now sandwiched between them through the fabric.
Heat surged through Xiao Jinsheng’s body, especially in the hand pressed against Su Ye’s firm stomach—it felt like clutching a furnace.
"And what about you, sneaking into my house in the middle of the night? What’s your excuse?" Xiao Jinsheng countered.
"If I got turned down, my pride would take a big hit." Su Ye’s golden eyes lowered slightly, his gaze drifting from Xiao Jinsheng’s fair and delicate face to her smooth shoulders and collarbone.
Xiao Jinsheng was wearing a spaghetti-strap sleep dress. Feeling his invasive gaze, she shivered slightly and hunched her shoulders.
"Cold?" Su Ye asked.
Xiao Jinsheng shook her head, though she could feel herself enveloped by his fresh post-shower scent and powerful hormonal aura.
Her fingers stroked his abs lightly, trailing downward, her eyes teasingly sultry. "But I seem to recall you wanted to divorce me?"
Su Ye’s fingers glided across her silky nightgown, his large hand settling on her slender waist as he spun her around and pinned her against the door, bending down to meet her gaze. "Just five points. Divorce, what divorce?"
"But a perfect score divorce—that’s what we agreed upon, wasn’t it?" Xiao Jinsheng laughed lightly, pressing her hands against Su Ye’s chest in an attempt to push him away.
Su Ye caught her wrists and placed them on his shoulders, pulling her even closer. "Then tell me, what do I have to do to make you agree not to divorce?"
"Depends on how you perform." Xiao Jinsheng smirked. "For instance... serve me."
Su Ye’s breath carried playful laughter as he squeezed her waist tightly and leaned in for a dominant kiss.
The moment their lips met, Su Ye’s advance easily overcame her defenses, deepening the kiss.
Karma seemed to shift rapidly, and Xiao Jinsheng couldn’t believe her own luck.
She had been considering who to choose next, never expecting Su Ye to deliver himself to her doorstep.
No matter his motives, Xiao Jinsheng planned to finish the night and think about it later.
While musing, Su Ye bit her lower lip lightly, his golden eyes flashing with unchecked aggression. "What’s on your mind? Focus."
With that, he scooped her up in his arms and kissed her neck as he strode toward the bed.
Still breathless from the kisses, Xiao Jinsheng found herself flung onto the soft bedding.
Her strap slid off one shoulder, and as she sat up, she saw Su Ye standing at the foot of the bed, slowly untangling his belt.
"Wait." Xiao Jinsheng stopped him.
Su Ye paused, his confused gaze landing on Xiao Jinsheng’s disheveled dress, flushed cheeks, and swollen lips. "What’s wrong?"
"Turn off the lights." Xiao Jinsheng murmured, blushing.
Su Ye froze for a moment, then raised his eyebrows as if to laugh. Still, he nodded quickly under her glaring expression. "As you command, my lady."
He walked a short distance and turned off the lights.
With darkness settling in, Xiao Jinsheng could vaguely sense Su Ye approaching, his body’s heat and the sound of clothing rubbing against the bedding growing magnified as her other senses heightened.
"In the dark, all your senses become sharper," Su Ye whispered close to her ear, biting gently on her earlobe. "For example, your hearing."
His deep voice, wrapped in magnetism, sent tremors pounding through her chest.
Su Ye lowered his head, seeking the sweetness of her neck before planting a tender kiss. "Or your sense of smell."
The faint roughness of his calloused fingers glided over her smooth shoulder, pulling her gown’s strap down slowly. His palm roamed over her skin, causing waves of shivers.
Su Ye chuckled softly, placing his hand on her thigh and lifting it slightly to press closer. "And lastly, touch."
Following his movements, Xiao Jinsheng raised her hips slightly, only to feel something furry brush against her inner leg.
Startled, she clutched Su Ye’s arm tightly. "Turn the light back on! There’s something on the bed."
"Not a chance." Su Ye pulled her hands to rest on his shoulders and kissed her again. "You’re the one who asked to turn off the lights."
Right then, the furry sensation swept past her leg again.
She tried to move her feet to avoid it, but the furry thing curled around her ankle and lifted her leg to rest against Su Ye’s slim waist.
At that moment, Xiao Jinsheng finally understood.
Infuriated, she bit down hard on Su Ye’s shoulder. "You’re scaring me again!"
"You’re just too timid." Su Ye chuckled, his furry appendage wrapping around her other leg and placing it onto his waist.
He took Xiao Jinsheng’s right hand and pressed it against her wrist, where a shimmering black panther totem lit up. He leaned down and bit lightly near the totem. "It’s my tail."
He guided her hand to his head. "And my ears—I have them, too." noveldrama
Her hand met something furry, soft, and bouncy—his beast ears. Xiao Jinsheng couldn’t resist stroking them in delight. "You actually have a tail and beast ears! Why don’t I normally see them?"
"Because they’re only for you to see." Su Ye replied with a laugh.
Unable to suppress her grin, Xiao Jinsheng admitted she was thoroughly charmed.
The furry tail brushed against her again, now damp from a certain moisture, becoming limp and dripping.
"Is this enough?" Su Ye’s tail curled around one of her legs as he leaned in to ask softly.
Xiao Jinsheng murmured faintly and was about to nod when she felt a familiar warmth flow through her body.
"Wait!" she cried.
Su Ye stopped his movements abruptly, his body pressed against her as he frowned, concerned. "Are you hurt?"
"No." Xiao Jinsheng clutched her abdomen and winced. "It’s my period."
"What?" Su Ye blinked, quickly catching on. "Does your stomach hurt? I’ll go make you some brown sugar water right now."
Beast husbands like Su Ye would receive instructional manuals after marriage about their mate’s habits and physiology.
While Su Ye lacked practical experience, he understood Xiao Jinsheng’s current situation.
"A little." Xiao Jinsheng said weakly.
Her period always caused her severe pain in the past, and her tolerance hadn’t improved. The cramps were already coming on strong.
"I’ll warm up some brown sugar water for you." Su Ye turned the lights on, tucked her securely in the blanket, and rushed barefoot out of bed.
Watching the fresh claw marks streaked across his reddened back, and seeing him stark naked about to open the door, Xiao Jinsheng cried out, "Put some clothes on, you bastard!"
"Oh." Su Ye picked up the bathrobe tossed onto the sofa and tied it haphazardly.
Shrinking into the blanket, Xiao Jinsheng punched her pillow in frustration. "Why couldn’t you pick any other time to arrive, Aunt Flo! Why tonight of all nights?"
She lamented loudly—both her imminent spiritual power boost and the "meal" she’d had within reach were now interrupted.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Su Ye’s sugar-water preparation caused a racket, waking up four other men.
Listening to multiple footsteps coming toward the room, Xiao Jinsheng panicked. With her bed in a mess, she frantically yanked the blanket to cover it.
She wasn’t sure if the incriminating evidence was hidden, but the footsteps were already at her door, forcing her to burrow into the blanket, leaving only her eyes exposed.
What do you think?
