Chapter 1003: The Formation
The method Master used earlier to break the barrier seemed harmless, but in truth, it
had consumed nearly half of his internal energy. If not for this sacrifice, they wouldn't have escaped unscathed. Master had overexerted himself to ensure their safety.
They couldn't let Master suffer in vain.
The two of them attacked together, but no matter how skilled their martial arts were, they were powerless against Claudia's abilities.
Before they could even touch Claudia, she smirked coldly and waved her hand lightly. It didn't seem forceful, yet a wave of invisible pressure surged toward them.
The pressure struck them like a massive mountain, directly targeting their internal organs.
"Ugh!"
Tristan and Liam both spat out blood at the same time.
Claudia was about to launch another attack when Jared intervened, countering her move. Both of them were at the tenth level of ability, and every clash between them weighed heavily on the bystanders, as if a mountain pressed down on them.
Fortunately, this floor had already been cleared, and guards outside ensured no one would approach.
Master Tam, having received internal energy to stabilize himself, caught his breath and looked at the two fighting ahead. He raised a hand to stop Tina from sending him more energy and sighed deeply.noveldrama
"Girl, your Master may not care about his life, but my pride is more important to me than anything else."
Tina was speechless.
Was this really the time to worry about pride?
The others, who were anxiously watching Master Tam's condition, felt their hearts sink when they heard this.
Gavin couldn't hold back anymore. He threw himself onto Master Tam and burst into tears.
"Master, you can't die! I haven't avenged you yet! If you die, what will we do? What about all the treasures you've hidden in the back hills?"
Master Tam's face twitched slightly.
Seeing his reaction, the others quickly chimed in. "Gavin's method works. Keep going!"
Gavin thought of Hayden's usual tactics and added loudly, "Master, don't die! We won't divide the treasures in the back hills just yet. Serena is so capable, she'll definitely find a way to save you. Just hold on!"
"Hold on, my foot!"
Master Tam grabbed Gavin's ear and twisted it, his eyes reddened with anger. "Tell me, how do you know I hid treasures in the back hills? You little wolves! You've been eyeing my treasures all along. I'm not even dead yet, and you're already dividing my inheritance. You-"
Master Tam was so furious that he nearly choked on his own words.
Dexter quickly pulled Gavin away and helped soothe Master Tam. "Master, don't get angry, or you'll pass out again."
Master Tam glared at him, speechless.
If he truly died, it would be because of these disciples driving him to his grave.
Tina glanced at her Master, whose complexion had improved, and stood up. "Enough. You take Master out of here. Leave the rest to me."
"Serena, you can't handle this alone-"
Jimmy was about to protest when Tristan and Liam stopped him.
"That's enough. Don't you trust Serena's abilities? Besides, staying here will only make things harder for her."
Master Tam nodded. "Girl, I've cleared the obstacles ahead for you. Make sure to avenge your Master!"
The others echoed his words. "We're counting on you!"
Tina sighed inwardly. This was the one miscalculation she hadn't accounted for-their presence.
Once the others had left, Tina turned to Jared and said, "Uncle, let's begin."
Jared's eyes darkened, and his internal energy surged to its peak.
Claudia tried to counter, but to her shock, the energy was far beyond her ability to neutralize. She couldn't block it.
As the stalemate dragged on, blood suddenly welled up in Claudia's throat. She looked at Jared in disbelief. "You... How is this possible?"
Tina stepped forward, standing over Claudia. "I forgot to tell you. The Jade Armour has been hidden on my Uncle all along."
"You..."
Tina guessed what Claudia was thinking and finished her sentence for her. "You assumed I'd keep the Jade Armour on myself, so you hesitated to act recklessly. First, you feared harming my heart. Second, you were cautious about damaging the Jade Armour. But unfortunately, you miscalculated."
She leaned closer, her gaze cold and commanding. "With Uncle's tenth-level ability and the Jade Armour, how much of a chance do you think you have to leave here alive?"
Claudia sneered. Before Tina could strike, Claudia teleported to the bedside, her hand gripping Oliver's throat.
With a taunting smile, she said, "So what? I'll take the Jade Armour and both of you. Since we're all going to die, does it matter who goes first?"
She tightened her grip slightly, and Oliver's neck seemed on the verge of snapping. "Hand it over, and I'll spare his life."
Tina remained calm, her expression unchanged. "Do you think I'd leave the real Oliver here for you to harm?"
Claudia raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "If he's fake, you don't care. But what about the real one?"
Tina's gaze darkened. "Jennie is in your hands!"
Claudia laughed. "I wasn't talking about her."
Tina's expression turned icy as she raised her hand to snatch Oliver back. But she was a step too late. Claudia lifted him off the bed with one hand and teleported to the window with the other.
"If
you want to save them-mother and son, along with your little brother-come and get them."
Tina and Jared exchanged a glance. Without hesitation, Jared grabbed Tina and followed Claudia.
Claudia deliberately led them to a desolate area. By the time they arrived, they realized it was a trap Claudia had meticulously prepared.
The vast open ground was covered in symbols and runes. Oliver, Hayden, and Jennie were bound together at the center of the formation.
Seeing Tina and Jared, Hayden shouted, "Serena! Jared! Help! This old witch wants to eat me alive!"
Jared frowned. "Didn't I tell you to rescue them? How did you end up tied up?"
Hayden's face was full of despair. "I don't know! Nathan put Mr. and Mrs. Reed in the front car, and I was in the back with Mrs. Reed's sister. But halfway there, the road vanished, and we got stuck in some ghostly maze. No matter how hard I drove, we couldn't get out..."
Tina's expression turned grim.
It seemed Claudia had already activated the formation. They were trapped. Hayden's car wasn't caught in a simple ghostly maze-it was the effects of the formation in full swing.
Jared sensed this too. He tried to use his energy, but his internal power was blocked.
He was about to test the Jade Armour's ability when Tina stopped him. She shook her head, motioning for him to wait.
At that moment, Claudia emerged, now dressed in a striking red outfit. She smiled at them.
"Don't waste your energy. Your abilities are under my control. By noon today, you'll become the key to my immortality."
Hayden couldn't hold back. "Immortality? Seriously? What century are we in? You've trained in so many dark arts, why haven't you gone insane yet? Someone should poison you already!"
What do you think?
