Chapter 2202 The Mayor’s Brother–in–Law
“Wolf Warrior Unit?” Ezra couldn’t help but sneer when he heard the name. “Sure, it was the most powerful and prestigious troop in Chanaca under Artemis. Now that he’s dead, it’ll be forgotten. Only the troops loyal to the new president will make any real impact going forward.”
“Stop rambling and just get to the point! I’m not Magnus. Don’t talk to me about that stuff–just tell me where my father is, or I’ll make you regret it!” Quintus snapped, his patience running thin.
Ezra raised an eyebrow and glanced at the time. “Seems like you’re not on my side. Fine, then we don’t have much to discuss.”
With that, he turned and began walking away to another door.
“Not so fast!” Quintus charged at him, throwing a punch.
Without caring about the man in front of him or the consequences, Quintus just wanted an answer. He’d given Ezra a chance, and now it was time to back up his warning.
Yet Ezra, a calm and collected middle–aged man, effortlessly caught Quintus‘ fist with one hand, noveldrama
Quintus froze, stunned. He hadn’t put his full strength behind the punch, but the fact that Ezra caught it so easily left him speechless.
He hadn’t expected Magnus to be weak, but his father? That was a different story.
“Magnus really is pathetic,” Quintus muttered. Then he asked, “Why does your energy feel so similar to mine?”
Ezra shrugged, shaking off Quintus‘ hand. “I don’t have time to chat. I’m in a rush. As for your father, he’ll show up soon enough.”
As the mayor of Zovince, Ezra knew Quintus wouldn’t let him go without saying something worthwhile.
Sure enough, after hearing that, Quintus paused, then spat out, “D*mn! So many hidden fighters in Chanaea!”
As he made his way
” he found Hattie tending to Magnus wound.
“Magnus, what happened? Did your dad do this?” Quintus asked.
Hattie had just asked the same thing, but Magnus still hadn’t answered. She observed him.
Magnus just smiled. “Let’s go.”
As they turned to leave, they found Chiara, Megan, and a group of fighters blocking their path.
The siblings quickly noticed that all the Zelinsky family’s fighters were present except for Aiden. They exchanged a glance, thinking, Emmanuel took out Birch, but where is Aiden?
Chiara snapped, “Magnus, you worked with Emmanuel to kill my husband. You’ve walked straight into a trap. You’re not leaving the Zelinsky family today!”
She turned to the fighters and ordered, “Come on, get rid of them!”

“Finally, the fun part!” Quintus grinned, eager for a figh, even if he still didn’t know where his dad was.
Hattie felt a knot in her stomach. She and Magnus weren’t skilled in combat, and with his injury, she was worried about getting out safely.
In the tense moment, someone quickly approached and called out, “Stop! The patriarch ordered that no one harm Mr. Magnus. He is now to be treated as a member of the Zelinsky family.”
“What?!” The simple words carried heavy meaning.
Chiara and Megan’s expressions soured, disbelief written all over their faces. Could it be that Maxwell needed to die in vain?
Hattie exchanged a confused glance with Magnus. She was sharp enough to sense that Magnus had made some sort of deal with their father.
“Hattie, let’s go,” Magnus stated, his tone serious. He leaned on her shoulder and limped away from the Zelinsky family.
Chiara bit her lip, watching them go with a look of mixed emotions.
Meanwhile, Ezra made his way to a car parked at a different entrance of the Zelinsky Residence. Keeping a low profile, he was alone with just his driver, Aiden.
Before long, they arrived at the National Treasury Building in Zovince.
Though it was after hours, Catherine was still at her desk, working away with her reading glasses perched on her nose.
The phone rang.
“Ezra, you’re here!” Catherine greeted him warmly.
“Yes, Catherine, we can head out now,” Ezra replied.
“Great!” She said as she made her way downstairs and into the car.
Though they were siblings, they looked more like mothers and sons, with Catherine exuding a nurturing, motherly vibe.
“Let’s go.
I’ll keep you company on your visit to your brother–in–law.” Catherine smiled kindly
“Does Teddy know?” Ezra asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I haven’t told him. Honestly, he doesn’t need to know,” Catherine responded casually.
Later, she added, “Teddy agreed that once I became president, he’d handle Chanaea’s business landscape while the Zelinsky family would maintain the political scene. We’ll work together to create a new era.”
Ezra nodded in approval. “Smart, but doesn’t he worry that all the power will fall into our hands?”
“Teddy isn’t narrow–minded. He doesn’t care about the traditional idea of inheritance; besides, he doesn’t have a son. He understands that the era is all about cooperation. One force alone can’t do it all,” Catherine explained.

Ezra nodded, impressed by her reasoning.

Catherine went on, “Our real challenge is Ethan. Mason’s a relative of ours, so we should try to win him over and strategize together.”
Ezra agreed, his mind already working through the possibilities.
The car soon pulled up to a secluded building in Zone
This was clearly a secret meeting. Bodyguards stood watch inside and outside, their presence intimidating.
After they exited the car, a man in a suit greeted them warmly, followed by a maid.
“Ms. Zelinsky, Mr. Zelinsky, welcome! Please, come in!” The group ushered them inside with hospitality.
The courtyard was lined with blossom trees, giving the place a peaceful and serene feel.
They were led inside a large Shoiya–style room where two men were sipping tea.
Though they were brothers, their appearances and energy were vastly different. Anyone who didn’t know them would never guess they were related.
“Oh, Ezra, your brother–in–law is here too?” Catherine smiled first, breaking the tension.
She had the role of setting the mood since the family dynamic was strained.
“Ms. Zelinsky, I invited Yorick to join us. It’s been a while since we all gathered together,” Mason replied, smiling innocently. He wore thick glasses and had a slightly naive charm. As the Secretary of Agriculture, he dealt with farmers and had a straightforward, simple side.
“Hi, Yorick,” Ezra called out awkwardly.
Yorick glanced at him, his expression distant. He didn’t respond warmly, instead bluntly saying, “I’m not your brother–in–law anymore. I’m a Shoiya person now”
