Love's Redemption

Redmption 45

Redmption 45

That spot was indeed the highest point. Through the video, I could see the amusement park under the lights. Overall, it didn’t look bad. But the base color of the lighting was completely different from the design. From NôvelDrama.Org.

The original design had a blue gradient base color. It was supposed to

resemble an ocean transitioning from night to dawn.

Now, it was all blue, without the gradient. And the blue was a deep and heavy shade. Though the color was rich, it lacked soul.

“Ms. Crown, that’s the overall view. I’m not sure if it’s the contractor’s problem or the lighting manufacturer’s issue.” Kara’s voice came through.

“Have you communicated with both parties? What did they say?” I asked.

“The contractor said they followed the requirements. And the manufacturer said the lights were made according to our specifications. Neither admits there’s an issue, so I don’t know where the problem lies,” Kara said, feeling

troubled.

“Ms. Crown, you need to come back. I really can’t handle this. Plus, you’ve put so much effort into this amusement park. You wouldn’t want it to have such issues, right?” Kara started persuading me again.

“Alright. I’ll come back.” This time, I didn’t say anything else.

After hanging up the video call, I booked a flight. Soon after, I received the aerial details from Kara and realized the problem was quite significant.

Early the next morning, I had already packed my luggage as I had a 9:00 am flight to catch.

‘Maddie, you’re up early today. Are you doing your yoga again?” Kelly asked as

she saw me.

I’d been practicing yoga in the courtyard these past few days. Kelly always reminded me to be careful not to hurt my arms, legs, or back.

“No.”

I walked up to her. “Mrs

Rhodes, I have to go back.”

I

Kelly was stunned. Then, she mumbled, “Didn’t you say you’d stay for a few more days?”

“There’s a project at my company with some issues that I need to handle. After it’s sorted out, I might come back to see you,” I said, though I only mentioned it as a possibility.

Even though I would leave Chris‘ company, I still needed to continue working to support myself.

“Alright. Go on then. Everyone leaves, except for this old lady who can’t go anywhere.” Her words tugged at my heartstrings.

They also sparked a bold idea in me. “Mrs. Rhodes, why don’t you come with

me?”

“Take me with you?” Kelly was surprised.

“Yes. I’ll take you to see the bustling city. I smiled, feeling excited at the prospect. Over these few days, I had come to see her as my own grandmother.

But Kelly shook her head. “It’s fine. At my age, my legs aren’t nimble anymore. I’d just be a burden to you.”

“No, don’t say that, Mrs. Rhodes. Come on. It’ll just be for a few days,” I clung to her arm and pleaded.

She looked at me. “Thank you for your kindness, sweetie. But I won’t go

anywhere. I’ll just stay here. If you ever want to come back, you know where to find me.”

Hearing her words, my nose tingled with emotion. I reached out and hugged her. “I’ll miss you, Mrs. Rhodes.”

“Why would you miss me? You should miss Brandon. He’s such a good man. But you’ve hurt him until he had to leave. Kelly’s words instantly shattered my little moment of sentimentality.

Brandon had left because I had rejected him and because I didn’t like him?

Before I could say anything, Kelly patted my hand. “Maddie, Brandon really is a good man. I hope you’ll think about it.”

“Okay,” I agreed.
