Chapter 158
Chapter 158
The three of them turned at the same time and saw Abel looking at Jocelyn with a grin on his face.
Davis saw Abel’s grin and gave Jocelyn a worried look.
Jocelyn pursed her lips slightly and whispered, “Davis, you and Lexie should go first, I’ll say a few words to him.” Davis looked worried. “You can handle it by yourself, right?” Jocelyn was taken aback, then she immediately thought of what happened last night and
ok her head. “Don’t worry, he’s not here to cause trouble for me.”
She had interacted with Abel so many times, so Jocelyn had a general understanding of him.
Abel was the kind of person who looked like a rascal, but in fact, he was kind and righteous in his bones. He belonged to the kind of person who was decent, but he was arrogant, so people were a little scared of him.
Seeing that Jocelyn was so determined, Davis could only remind her, “Well, if anything happens, call me.”
Jocelyn nodded. “Okay, Lexie doesn’t come to such occasions very often, you can help me take care of her.”
Davis nodded. “Of course.”
As soon as Davis and Lexie left, Abel leaned against the hollowed-out door of the villa and he was looking at Jocelyn with a half-smile, not saying a word. Thinking of his righteous rescue last night, Jocelyn took the initiative to walk over. “Mr. Crain, why are you here?” Abel raised his eyebrows. “I saved you, right? So I can be considered your friend, why are you still acting like a stranger?” Jocelyn paused
and said, “I will feel more at ease if I call you Mr. Crain.” Abel pouted. “Whatever, as long as you’re happy.” Jocelyn nodded. “You haven’t answered my previous question yet.” Abel snorted, raised his chin slightly, and pointed to the villa next door. “I am attending a dinner party next to you guys. What do you think? Don’t you think we’re destined to meet?”
If this was before, Jocelyn would definitely say that she would rather not have this kind of fate. However, after what happened last night, her attitude towards Abel was much better. She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I guess so.”
Abel was taken aback. He looked at the soft smile on her face that looked as fresh and refined as a newly sprouted lotus after the rain, and it made him unable to take his eyes off of her.
He was a little lost for a while. Then, he looked at Jocelyn blankly. “You smiled at me!” Jocelyn was a little uncomfortable when he looked at her. “I should greet you with a smile because you have saved my life after all.” Abel came back to his senses and grinned. “Oh, since it’s a life-saving grace, how are you going to repay me?” Before Jocelyn could speak, she saw Abel wink with a cheeky grin. “You can also repay me with your body?”
The smile on Jocelyn’s face subsided. “Mr. Crain, please don’t make such a joke.”
Abel wanted to say that he was not joking as he was quite attracted to Jocelyn from the start. However, as he watched Jocelyn’s smile subside and her expression turned cold, he knew that if he did not want Jocelyn to stay away from him in the future, it was better not to say that. He tugged on the corners of his lips. “Just kidding, why are you so serious?” When he said that, Jocelyn breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Abel was her savior now and she did not want to make things embarrassing for Abel. She pursed her lips and said, “To be honest, I am grateful to you from the bottom of my heart for what happened last night. If you have time, I will buy you a meal.”
Of course, she would remember his life-saving grace. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
However, of course, it was not enough to give thanks verbally for this kind of kindness. Furthermore, it was not too late to repay his kindness at the right time.
Abel curled his lips and looked at her. “Okay, I’ll look forward to that.”
Upon hearing this, Jocelyn nodded. When she was about to bid farewell to him to head to the party, she heard Abel say, “Would you like to come and have fun with us? Why don’t I introduce you to a few friends?” Jocelyn immediately refused, “No, I’m going to find Director Lang and Lexie.” Abel did not force it either. “Alright, we’ll meet again when we have time, but don’t forget your promise!”
Jocelyn was a little speechless. He was making a meal sound so serious.
As soon as Skyler got out of the car, he heard Abel’s last sentence. His expression immediately sank when he saw Jocelyn standing in front of Abel.
