Bailey's pov
"We need to pee," Kristina suddenly uttered, packing up her bag with a bit of haste while typing something on her phone. My brows drew together.
"We?"
She nod, giving me a pointed look. " Yes. We."
My eyes widen I realized what she was trying to tell me. I nodded and reluctantly peeled away from Kaleb. Being in his arms always felt so right, I always never wanted to leave.
"Is this some kind of girl secret code?" Kaleb snorted, his fingers trembling to pull me back into his arms. I smiled and leaned over to kiss him.
"I'll see you after school," I told him before pulling away. The classes after lunch we had none together.
He let out a sigh and pouted adorably, before nodding. Kristina and I left and made our way to the bathroom.
"Did she get it?" I asked her, eyeing how she was so stiff with nerves. She nodded. "Yes. Texted me. We may have some time to take it now. I don't want to end up taking it home." She cringed.
I nod, unsure what I can say or do to ease her obvious discomfort and anxiety. Out of all of us, Kristina was the one who was like the mother of the group and her potentially being pregnant was kind of bizarre.
When we got inside the bathroom, it was empty except for Mira who was leaning up against a stall. She pushed off when she saw us and told us to lock the door.
Her face was red. Very red which rouse both Kristina and I's intrigue.
"What?" She blushed.
I tilted my head. "You got kissed didn't you?" I observed.
Her eyes widen slightly and her face turned beet red. I bit my lip to not giggle at her. "What?"
I shook my head and even Kristina let out a little laugh.
"Could you guys focus on the task at hand and forget about Ryan kissing me right now?" She huffed, trying to play it cool.
Kristina and I looked at each other and smiled. "We never said it was Ryan who kissed you." I pointed out, grinning from ear to ear.
Mira let out a faint sigh and then pushed the brown paper bag she had in her hold to Kristina. "Let's just get this over with. There's like three in there, I checked."
Her cheeks were still beet red.
Kristina grasped the bag with shaky hands, now completely aware of what was happening and what will happen.
I looked at her worriedly. "Do you want some water or to sit down before taking them?"
She shook her head. "I guess I should woman up huh," she snorted, her knuckles turning white with how hard and harsh she gripped the poor bag.
She let out a sigh and looked at the stall, her eyes clenching shut while soft prayer words parted from her lips. "God, I don't know what you have in store for me but I trust you."
Kristina entered the stall after that and Mira comes over to me beside the sink, leaning against the countertop.
"Think she's okay in there?" She whispered, her worried eyes on the closed door. Just behind we can hear shuffling and boxes being torn.
I nibbled on my lower lip and shrug. "I don't know. Only the results will tell I guess." Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Mira's concerned eyes didn't once move away from the door as she murmured. "I can't imagine what she's feeling right now."
"Scared," I answered. "Terrified of the unknown," I sighed. "I'm more worried on how he's going to take it and her if she does end up being pregnant."
Mira nods, crossing her arms. "He had better not be an asshole to her. It takes two to tango and I am sure he did a lot of the tangoing."
"Mira!" I spluttered and she lifted her shoulder into a shrug.
"What?" She snorted.
With a shake of my head, we wait for Kristina silently. When a few minutes had gone by without a sound from her, we grew worried and I pushed off the countertop.
"Kristy?" I called out.
A loud shuffle is heard from behind the stall and a sniffle. "I'm fine. I'll be out in a minute."
I swallowed. How long did these things take? Did she see the results already and that's why she is clearly crying?
I looked back at Mira for help, she chewed on her lips. "You okay in there?"
"Yeah," Kristina croaked out. "I just," she took in a shaky breath and the door creaked open. Her blotchy eyes and red nose is the first thing I notice, then the tests in her hands.
She looked so pale and ready to tumble to the floor. I go over to her just in case she loses her footing.
"Kristy," I said in worry, looking at her and begging her to tell me what was wrong.
"I'm- I'm pregnant."
