My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1600

Realizing she wouldn't get any answers from Aiken over the phone, Simona decided to end the call without pressing further.

There was no point in continuing the truth wasn't something Aiken would admit to easily anyway.

"I just missed you and wanted to check in on you. Since everything's fine, I'll hang up now. When I'm on break, I'll come back to visit," she said. "Okay. Stay safe out there. Call me if you need anything," Aiken replied.

The siblings then ended the call.

On Aiken's side, he was naked on the bed while holding a cigarette in his hand.

The room was a mess as clothes were scattered all over the floor.

Wendy had gotten out of bed at some point. She had just slipped on her underwear and was searching for her clothes amidst the chaos.

Earlier, in his urgency, he had been too rough and had likely torn her dress.

"I've already sent someone to bring you new clothes. Go take a shower first," Aiken said.

Wendy paused, her hand halfway through putting on her bra. She looked over at him immediately.

Their ambiguous relationship had gone on for quite some time.

In the beginning, it had been her boldness-she'd had too much to drink and seduced him. Moreover, he had also been drugged that night.

After that, he wanted to compensate her, but she refused and instead made a request-she wanted to be his girlfriend.

Aiken had rejected her, saying he never planned to marry and that being his legitimate partner was impossible.

He had always been surrounded by women, and their night together was just that a one-night stand. He had even told her that they could only have that one night since she was Simona's classmate and close friend.

But Wendy refused to back down, saying she was willing to be his mistress just so she could exchange it for his help in advancing her career. However, in truth, she had fallen for him a long time ago.

Aiken had saved her from a dark and desperate place, shielding her from the people threatening her.

Her so-called exchange of benefits was just a pretense-she only wanted to be with him, even if it meant staying in the shadows.

But now... She shook off those memories immediately.

"There's no need. I can cover the torn part with a jacket. I'll drive home, and no one will see me," she said.noveldrama

Aiken remained silent, continuing to smoke as if lost in thought.

After being with him for so long, Wendy felt like she had failed. She had believed that after all this time, she would occupy some space in his heart.

But aside from the moments they shared in bed when he seemed so close, there was always a layer of mist shrouding him a barrier she couldn't pierce or get past.

From the beginning, he made it clear that their relationship was meant to be secret and hidden from the world.

When he was on the phone with Simona earlier, Wendy didn't dare to make a sound.

Being with Aiken while keeping it a secret from Simona often made her feel guilty. She felt as though she had leveraged her friendship with Simona to maintain this relationship.

Through subtle inquiries, she had learned that Aiken was indeed surrounded by many women. But none of them stayed by his side for long he was cold-hearted in that way.

Yet, she had been with him for this long, largely because of Simona. She and Simona were close friends and classmates.

For some reason, this thought made her feel suffocated.

As she reached the door to leave, she took a deep breath and finally summoned the courage to speak.

"I won't bother you anymore. From

now on, let's not see each other

again. Simona will be back soon. Let's pretend everything that happened before today never happened."
