My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1604

As Elsie brushed past her, Skylar said in a low voice, "The negative item you have will bring you even more trouble later on."

Elsie froze momentarily before snapping, "I already told you! I've done nothing wrong, and there's no way I'd have a negative item on me. Stop dodging your problems. I'm certain Joe will remember everything about his past life soon. When he does, he'll realize that you have nothing to do with him. You're nothing but a thief to me!"

It was as though voicing her denial could somehow bolster her confidence, but her words betrayed her inner turmoil. Deep down, Elsie dismissed Skylar's claims as manipulative lies meant to sow doubt. Only fools would believe such nonsense.

Skylar didn't argue. She simply watched as Elsie stormed out, her steps hurried.

Outside, rain continued to pour. Elsie didn't even have an umbrella. She stood anxiously at the curb, trying to hail a cab.

She glanced back nervously at the restaurant occasionally.

Their gazes met briefly through the window. The moment Elsie saw Skylar watching her, she quickly looked away, guilt flickering across her face like a shadow caught in the light.

Skylar sipped her water, her calm demeanor unshaken. After Elsie finally got into a cab and disappeared into the rain-drenched streets, a car pulled up in front of the restaurant.

From it emerged Joe, holding an umbrella as he walked inside.

Skylar turned her gaze toward him as he entered; raindrops clung to his jacket despite his efforts.

Rising from her seat, she walked over to meet him.

"Done talking?" Joe asked.

Skylar replied with a nod, "Let's talk at home."

Once they were back at Galaxy Villa, Skylar shared everything with Joe—the presence of a negative item on Elsie and her suspicions about its origin.

However, just as she was about to delve into more personal matters, Joe reached for her hand, stopping her.

"On the way to pick you up from the restaurant, I had a dream," he said.noveldrama

"What kind of dream?" she asked.

After much hesitation, Joe finally voiced his concerns. "For the past two years, Kve been having this recurring dream. In it, you and I are distant and cold toward each other.

We argue constantly. I always ever.

thought it was just a meaningless nightmare-a side effect of losing my memory for so long. But now, I'm not sure."

Skylar froze in place, her palms suddenly damp with sweat.

She had occasionally had strange dreams for the past two years, though not frequently. Sometimes she would wake with the unsettling feeling that everything she held dear was nothing more than a fleeting

dream that couldn't be trusted.

In those dreams, she and Joe were indeed filled with animosity toward each other. It was as if the intensity of their love and trust in the real world had been reversed into hatred and bitterness in the dream world.

Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself. She finally said, "I've had similar dreams, just like you."

The couple exchanged a long, silent look, the weight of unspoken thoughts hanging in the air.

Skylar was the first to break the silence, her tone measured and deliberate. "I've been thinking. Maybe we aren't meant to be together in the first place."

Joe frowned, about to argue, but Skylar quickly shook her head to stop him. She said, "Wait, let me explain. There are things I never

thought 'd share in this lifetime

They're bizarre, and for a long time, I thought they were just cautionary dreams warning me to stay grounded. But I've realized it's not that simple."

She hesitated before continuing, "Recently, I've heard of multiple people claiming they've been influenced by negative items and recalling experiences from past lives. This can't be a coincidence. I... I was reborn."

Joe's expression remained calm as he listened to her, his lack of surprise catching her off guard. Skylar blinked in confusion. "You..."

"I believe you," Joe said firmly, without hesitation.

Skylar's eyes welled up with tears as emotion surged within her. "Do you want to know about my past life?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. "More than anything," Joe said, his grip tightening on her hand.

Skylar fought back the tears in her eyes and began recounting the events of her past life.

Joe's grip on her hand tightened with each revelation. It took him more than ten minutes to calm himself after she finished.

Many of the puzzles that had plagued him now began to make sense. Back then, she had been awakening from a nightmare, trapped in a life filled with darkness. Now, the pieces were finally falling into place.
