Elsie said, "Yes, I need your help with something. I... I want to meet Mr. Martin."

Paul, who had been lounging on the couch, immediately straightened at her words. "You want to see Mr. Martin?"

Earlier that day, Paul had been informed that Skylar was supposed to meet Elsie. He also had a general idea of why. Elsie was carrying what was believed to be a negative item, and because of it, she was convinced she was a reincarnated soul.

Eager and almost impatient, Elsie spoke again, "Yes, I need to meet him. Could you help me arrange it? I went to the restaurant today, hoping to meet Mr. Martin, but instead, it was his wife who came."

Paul's tone remained calm yet firm. "What exactly do you need to discuss with Mr. Martin?"

Elsie hesitated, knowing this was a question Paul had to ask as Joe's assistant. But there were things she couldn't share not with him.

Paul was just an assistant. Even if she explained, he wouldn't be able to solve anything. Yet if she refused to answer, he wouldn't help her arrange the meeting.

"I... I have something important to

discuss with Mr. Martin. It's personal and can only be said face-to-face. When I met his wife earlier, I didn't fully understand what happened, and need to clarify it with M Martin directly. I won't take much of his time-20 minutes, or even 10, would be enough."

She knew how valuable Joe's time was.

Even Alban, a man of considerable influence, had to make appointments to meet Joe. Casual encounters were rare unless they happened to cross paths at an event.

But lately, there had been no such opportunities. As for stopping Joe on the road, that method could only be used once. She feared it would only make Joe resent her if she tried it again.

"Negative items, negative items," she muttered bitterly. "Why does everyone insist they're negative items? I see it now. This is Skylar's doing. She's spinning lies, convincing everyone that my rebirth is a sham.

"Even Mr. Ziegler... even Joe... they've all been brainwashed by her. They think everything I say is a delusion caused by these so-called negative items."

A suffocating frustration closed in on her like she was adrift in a small boat surrounded by hostile waters. Everyone doubted her and questioned her, yet there was nothing she could do to prove them wrong.

The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt.

"Skylar, you'll pay for this!" she hissed, her voice trembling with emotion. "You stole someone's destiny. You won't escape the consequences. One day, you'll face the price of your lies."
