My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 216

This time, Willow read the agreement carefully just in case.

Once again, there was a clause that required her to compensate the company five hundred thousand dollars if she quit without approval.

However, the company would go with the regular procedure of compensating her two months' salary if she was fired instead.

Her probation period was one month!

She would be fired if she made any mistakes in one month.

In that case, getting fired would make this a good deal.

She couldn't quit now because Jasper just rejected her resignation.

If she insisted on leaving, she had to pay the company two hundred thousand dollars!

She couldn't even pay fifty thousand now, much less two hundred thousand. With this in mind, signing the agreement seemed like the best option.

Willow signed the agreement after reading it through.

She put the agreement down and said to Jasper, "Mr. Hughes, if there's nothing else from you, please excuse me."

Jasper let her leave.

Once Willow was outside, she breathed a huge sigh of relief, feeling a lingering fear.

If she hadn't reacted in time and pushed Jasper away earlier, he would've devoured her back there.

He said he would take responsibility for her, but he made her his personal secretary instead.

While her salary increased, she would also get closer to him.

No matter how she thought about it, she still felt like he was trying to get her into an office romance and provide for her.

Since she couldn't quit, she just had to make a mistake to get herself fired.

She would even get two months' worth of salary for being fired. That was a hundred thousand dollars!

Oh, what a sweet deal.

Tyson assigned Willow to a room.

The room used to belong to Edith.

"This will be your office from now on, Ms. Nason. Your job scope and Mr. Hughes' schedule are inside the computer's spreadsheet. Take a look at it," Tyson instructed as be handed her her new job details.

"Alright, Mr. Ward. I understand," Willow said politely.

Then, Tyson returned to his post. Willow sat down in front of the computer, opened up the folder, and read it through.

The phone on her desk rang. She answered it.

It was the receptionist, Fanny Lowe. "Hello, Ms. Secretary. A guest is looking for

Mr. Hughes. She claims to be Mr. Hughes' mother-in-law."

Willow's transfer wasn't made known to the rest of the company yet. The receptionist only knew that they were getting a new secretary today, but she didn't know the secretary's name. noveldrama

The rules of her job required her to call the CEO's personal secretary to inform

them of any visitors for Mr. Hughes.

Willow was shocked. "Mr. Hughes' mother-in-law?"

Fanny thought the new secretary's voice sounded familiar. Then, she realized that it was Willow's voice.

Willow was a janitor. Although she was in charge of cleaning the highest floor, she frequently helped out in cleaning the lobby.

Since she was close in age to the receptionist, the two young women often chatted together.

So the receptionist naturally recognized Willow's voice.

She suppressed her astonishment and maintained calm and professional. "That's right. She says she has urgent matters to discuss with Mr. Hughes regarding her daughter."
