Chapter 362
Jasper was still groggy from sleep, but his eyes widened at the name on the caller
ID.
There was a hint of iciness in his gaze as he stared at the screen.
Willow's heart was pounding as she watched him stare at the phone.
Every nerve in her body tensed with worry.
She prayed that Jasper wouldn't answer the phone.
If he did, Lara was sure to say something along the lines of 'What are you doing?',
'Where are you?' and 'Your children miss you.'noveldrama
If Lara found out that she was with Jasper and they had been doing the
unspeakable, Lara would insist on causing an uproar.
Also, should she mention the children, Jasper was sure to find out about them eventually with his intelligence.
Willow would lose everything, especially her most precious children.
She couldn't bear to withstand such an outcome.
Jasper glanced at Willow, noticing her widened eyes and careful breathing.
He raised an eyebrow and said with an alluring voice, "You look anxious."
Despite her panic, Willow tried to compose herself and said, "Of course I am. What am I supposed to tell my mother if she finds out that we've been sleeping together?"
As she spoke with forced composure, she tried to grab the phone.
However, Jasper raised his arm to avoid her hand. He shot her a glance. "Just tell her the truth."
Having said that, he slid his finger on the phone to answer it.
Willow's chest tightened at the sight. Her nerves were on the verge of snapping from the pressure.
The ringtone stopped the moment Jasper finished sliding. The call was automatically canceled because it wasn't answered for a long time.
Willow relaxed slightly after the phone stopped ringing.
However, she couldn't loosen her guard completely because Lara might try calling again.
Jasper looked at the phone's darkened screen and his brows furrowed. He then tossed it aside and reached for Willow to pull her towards him, forcefully making her rest her head on his arm in an intimate gesture.
Willow went to great lengths to put some distance between them, so she was disheartened the moment she was pulled back to him.
There was a hint of sorrow mixed in her anxiety.
What kind of a relationship was this?
She asked, "Will you marry me?"
She could feel the arm cradling her head stiffened at this.
The air around them seemed to cool down as Jasper's aura turned cold.
"You should know what it means to be to my lover. Don't even dream about anything else!" he said coldly before retracting his arm from under her head and getting up.
The blanket fell off his body, revealing a perfect figure with well-toned abs.
His words felt like a knife stabbing at Willow's heart. Willow glanced at him only to have her heart skipa beat before she quickly looked away and kept quiet.
She already anticipated such an answer.
Jasper must have meant that he would be keeping her when he made her his lover.
Thus, she wasn't an existence to be proud of.
She thought she only had to stay by his side and avoid physical intimacy as much as possible.
She was trying to buy time until the day she could escape.
However, it happened before she managed to flee.
When Willow looked at Jasper again, the man was fully dressed in a suit, looking like a dignified elite businessman.
"Get up. We're going down for breakfast," he said coldly before leaving the room.
When Jasper first learned that
Willow was the woman who saved
him five years ago, he thought of
marrying her. He wouldn't have
taken her to meet his grandparents otherwise.
However...
He didn't expect her to be George Lane's daughter, and also Xavier's ex- girlfriend.
Jasper would never allow a second Serene Jordan, who was his mother, into the Hughes family.
Willow shifted to get out of bed.
Her whole body ached the moment she moved, proving just how rough Jasper
was last night.
What do you think?
