Chapter 2234
Chapter 2234
Tremaine chose not to explain anything to Sheldon despite his bafflement but instead gave him instructions for the next day.
Meanwhile, Sheldon's mind raced like bolts of lightning after hearing the orders.
He finally had all the answers to the questions he had been ruminating about the past few days.
"You got all that?" Tremaine asked gravely.
"Yes, Mr. Tremaine," Sheldon said with sonority.
Tremaine nodded. "You may leave."
Walking out of Tremaine's office, Sheldon's heart pounded.
He knew he was right to believe something was off, judging from Mr. Tremaine's reaction when he read the results of Qiana and Montez's DNA paternity test.
He already had a hunch then something major was going to happen.
And it was just as he expected...
After running around for a couple of days, Yesseca and Preslie had finally found the perfect
store.
It was located in the city center, a prime location. On top of that, the new store was much larger, twice as large as their first store.
They got down to planning that evening itself.
They discussed what had to be done, what they had to purchase, how the furnishing was going to look; everything had to be prepared in advance. This time, Yesseca was going to do it without Selina's help.
She had enough funds to do it herself.
"Preslie, let's do everything ourselves this time, from the furnishing to marketing. This is, in a real sense, our very first store!" Yesseca said. However, Preslie still had doubts.
She said, "Will our patisserie still be a hit without Selina's help? We won't be able to attract many customers on our opening day if we can't book any celebrities, can we?"
Yesseca smiled.
She wasn't worried about any of Preslie's doubts at all.
She said, "We did attract a lot of attention on our opening day because of the celebrities Selina managed to book for us. But think about it, Preslie, did our customers return because of the celebrities?" "Of course not." Preslie cried out, "They came back because our pastries are delicious!" "Precisely!" Yesseca smiled. "As long as we keep doing what we do, we'll be able to attract loads of customers. Besides, it doesn't matter even if the traffic won't be what we expect on our first day. I believe word-of-mouth and our ability to make good pastries will get our business running." Yesseca's speech got Preslie pumped.
She said, "Alright then. We'll oversee everything this time. Just you and me!"
And the next second, a phone rang.
It was a call from Matthew.
Yesseca thought it was strange.
Why would he be calling at such a time?
Preslie whispered, "Yesseca, do you think Matthew found out you are opening a new store?"
Yesseca shook her head. "I don't think so. I didn't tell Selina."
With that, Yesseca answered the call.
"Yesseca, I didn't wake you up from your sleep, did I?" Matthew's gentle voice traveled through the phone.
"No, you didn't."
Matthew continued, "Yesseca, please ask Preslie to watch over your patisserie tomorrow. There's something I need to talk to you about in person." Yesseca asked instinctively, "What is it about?"
Matthew smiled. "We'll talk about it when we meet tomorrow."
"Okay then." Yesseca agreed.
After hanging up the phone, she let out a bitter chuckle. "Matthew thinks our patisserie is still operating. He said he had something to discuss with me and asked if you could take care of the store by yourself tomorrow."
Preslie didn't know what to say.
She suddenly felt ashamed.
Their patisserie would open as usual if it weren't for her and her 'amazing' parents.
Having a hunch Preslie was going to apologize to her again, Yesseca intervened, "You know, Preslie, I'm kind of glad I gave that store to your family." Preslie was shocked to hear it.
All smiles, Yeşseca explained, "Think about it. Selina and Matthew were the ones who helped me deal with everything but the baking, so I didn't regard it as our shop. That's why i don't think there's anything to be sad about, or we wouldn't be able to own our very own store so soon, no?"
Preslie knew there were hints of comfort to Yesseca's words.
Gratitude filled her, and at the same time,

The next day.
Qiana woke up bright and early.
She took a private jet to Agaphen City.
After arriving at the hotel their wedding was taking place, she got to putting on her bridal gown and makeup.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Tremaine still hadn't arrived.
But Qiana wasn't the least bit anxious.
She knew they would only see each other during the wedding.
The wedding was scheduled to start at noon.
After getting her makeup done, Qiana waited patiently in her room.
After a while, her father showed up along with his wife and her stepsister.
Her father flattered her obsessively.
Even her stepmother, who had always looked down on her, smiled at her for the first time. There was even a hint of flattery in her smile.
And then there was her sister.
Although that stuck- up girl didn't say anything flattering or nice, the jealousy and anger in her eyes were unmissable.
Qiana was feeling exceptionally triumphant.
She had jumped through hoops to make it to this day.
She was now only a step away from becoming the first lady of Nashaland!
She stood above tens of thousands of people now!
She was finally having the last laugh now!
Meanwhile, Matthew was driving Yesseca to the hotel.
As soon as Yesseca entered the hotel, she thought something didn't seem right.
The interior of the hotel had been lavishly decorated.
"Matthew, is someone getting married?" Yesseca asked.
Matthew nodded and said with a meaningful tone, "Yes, there is a wedding."
She became even more puzzled.
If her brother-in-law were to attend a wedding, his plus one would be her sister and not her. So why?
"Why don't you take a seat first, Yesseca." Matthew had already sat down.
Seeing so, she could only oblige.
She then asked warily, "Matthew, why isn't Selina here?"
Matthew smiled but didn't answer.
His reply only baffled Yesseca further.
Meanwhile, Tremaine was in his hotel suite.
A knock came at the door.
"Come in," he said with his deep voice.
Sheldon stepped in.
"Is everything ready?"
"Yes, Mr. Treamaine, everything's in place."
Tremaine nodded, malice flashing across his eyes. "It's time."
The Wedding March echoed through the room.
Yesseca looked around. She didn't seem to recognize any of the guests.
They didn't seem to recognize Matthew either.
Because none of them talked to him.
