Diana and Maximus stepped out of the room, both looking exhausted and worried. It was already 10:00 a.m., and there was still no news about Peter. Celeste had finally fallen into a deep sleep after drinking the tea they had brought her.

Marcus and Valerie had left the hospital a few hours earlier to pick up John from Magnus's house-they hadn't seen him in months.

Alden was drained, but he refused to leave the hospital. Even though Serenity insisted on staying with him, he had sent her home with her parents. Peter's surgery was taking too long, and he didn't want her exhausting herself too.

When I saw Dr. Wagner walk in, the

nurses immediately started

preparing everything for surgery. It was clear the moment I feared the most had arrived. It felt like life refused to let me be happy. Just when was about to become a father and a grandfather, I found myself back here again. thought that the day I walked out of this damn place, I'd never have to face this situation again.

Back then, things were different. Theodore was with me, but he was a stranger. I could see the distrust in his eyes, though over time, we adapted to each other. He needed me, but I needed him even more. This time, Celeste is with me. She's gripping my hand so tightly—if she could, she'd follow me into the operating room and never let go until she knew I was okay.

This woman was an angel, one that life decided I was meant to meet.

She, my children-big and small-my grandchildren, and the rest of my family were waiting for me. I knew! had to fight: I had to do everything could to survive.
