Not Your Doormat Anymore

Chapter 85

"I originally thought they were only trying to stir up trouble within the company, but who would've imagined they would unleash a storm of cyberbullying?" Lindsey said in disbelief.

She had been keeping an eye on the company forum and was prepared to clean up anything that might work against me. It was a necessary measure after the last incident when they spread news that had painted me in a bad light.

But this time, they had decided to swim against the current.

Rachel had posted a video online. In it, she was in tears. She said she had been working at the company for a long time, but ever since I had joined, I had been treating her unfairly just to satisfy my lover.

According to her, not only had I changed the roles of her subordinates but also deducted her bonus. She claimed all of this had left her feeling helpless.

To gain sympathy, she said she was just a regular employee working hard for the little money she made.

But everything had come crashing down when I, the rich man's son, ruined everything she had worked for.

The comments section was filled with people criticizing me for handling company affairs with ignorance. Many resonated with her story as fellow corporate employees.

Soon, our company's name was exposed, along with false rumors from my time as a doctor. Accusations piled up under my name.

"I know this guy! That intern is his lover-they even live together! It's true he bullied a senior employee just to make her happy!"

"You know he used to be a doctor, right? I heard he made a mistake and killed someone; that's why he got fired! Now he's at his family's company, messing with people again."noveldrama

"I remember that too. I heard something from someone at the hospital when one

of my family members was admitted. They said he pressured a patient and their family and even took bribes!"

"Oh my god, being his patient or his employee must be hell. People like him should get the hell out of Dramonia!"

"What kind of parents raised a son like that? Just because he's rich, he thinks he's better than everyone else?"

As I read through the comments, all echoing the same hatred for me, my expression darkened.

"He also holds

unvested shares in

the company, yet he's doing something like this. He's hurting

others at the cost of hurting himself. Even his own interests are being affected," Lindsey said with a

hardened expression, turning off the video.

Mira stood nearby and added carefully, "I know Mr. Ranford isn't who they're making him out to be, but the people online don't. To make things worse, this video is already trending online. Someone even sent a wreath to the office. It's clearly a malicious jab directed at Mr. Ranford!"

She looked at me with concern. The effort I had put into the company these past few days hadn't gone unnoticed, and now that I was at the center of public outrage, she obviously felt uneasy about it too.

To help me, she even tried to defend me online, but her comments were quickly buried beneath the hate comments.

Lindsey glanced over and said, "Maybe you should go back and rest for a few days. Lay low until things die down. I don't think it's the right time for you to be facing this kind of online abuse. It's not going to

do you any good."

I shook my head and gave her a faint smile. "It's alright. I can handle it."

I had already fallen into despair once in my past life when Casey and Andrew framed me and crushed me with cyberbullying.

Compared to back then, this round of slander barely caused a ripple online-it couldn't even hold a candle to the brutal backlash I faced in my past life.

And this time, there was no way I would be as helpless as I was back then. "Let's call the police."

I had thought about this countless times-if I got a chance to do it all over again, what would I do to counter that premeditated cyberbullying?

Back then, I tried to prove my innocence and worked with people who knew me to clear my name, but it was aluseless. With every step took, the online mob only came at me harder. That was when I finally

saw the truth of my situation.

Unless I had a huge influence online, there was no way out in a situation like this.

The only option was to rely on the power of the law.
